Theresia Schneider, widow of Paulus Reichert, and Jacobus Porst - circa 1920 - Glogowatz Pictured is Theresia Schneider and her second husband, Jacobus Porst. Theresia was the mother of my grandmother, Sofia Reichert Szander. Theresia was the first child of Theresia Steger and Vendilinus Schneider. She married Paulus Reichert on February 4, 1879. They had four children: one daughter, my grandmother, Sofia Catherine born April 3, 1881 and three sons, Franciscus, born 1879, died 1882; Paulus, born 1883, died 1948; and Antonius, born 1887, died 1887. Her first husband, Paulus Reichert, suffered a serious fall and eventually died of pneumonia on April 21, 1887. Theresia married Jacobus Porst on January 29, 1889. Born in 1866, Jacobus was the son of Catherine Schlechter and Jacobus Porst. Theresia and Jacobus Porst had four children: Catherine, born 1890, Theresia, born 1893, Anna born 1896, died, 1896, and Antonius, born 1897, died 1898. Catherine Porst married Ferencs Weisenburger and emigrated to College Point, New York in 1910. Theresia Porst married Johann Marksteiner in Glogowatz and raised two sons, Franz and Johann and one daughter, Theresia. Her daughter, Theresia, age 75, is now living in Germany

Catherine Porst and Ferencs Weisenburger - circa 1940 Catherine Porst was the daughter of Theresia Schneider, widow of Paulus Reichert, and Jacobus Porst. Catherine was half-sister to my grandmother, Sofia Reichert Szander. The Weisenburgers emigrated to College Point, New York arriving on August 16, 1910 via the ship, Carpathia. Ferencs Weisenburger was 24 years of age in 1910. Catherine was expecting their first child. Sebastian, their first son was born in New York. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends. Ferencs and Catherine had a family of six children: Sebastian, Anna, Theresia, Barbara, Frank and Catherine. Catherine's aunt, Barbara Porst, who had come to New York from Glogowatz in 1907 with her daughter, Anna, sponsored Catherine's half-sister, Sofia Reichert, her husband Michael Szander and their three sons, George, Paul and Ferencs(Frank).
