HANCOCK contributed information on this family.

[162] Parthenia lists her place of birth on the Widow's Pension Claim which I have a
copy of. She and William J. Baker both state she and John Baker were married
in Sumter Co., FL and she is a resident of Bushnell, Sumter Co., FL. I could
not find a record of their marriage in Sumter Co. She is listed in an
Application for Letter of Administration for John Baker's estate, Hernando
Co., FL, microfilm #24, file #159. In the Letter of Admin. she states she and
John were married 28 Apr 1868, however a birth date supplied by Alma Eischen
for her daughter, Jincey Adaline, lists Jincey's birthday as 1867. The 1885
Census shows her living in the household of James Wesley Baker, Sumter Co., FL.
She is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (next to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church
at 5579 C.R. 316A, just off of Hwy 48 W) next to a Memorial marker from James
& Mary Baker, John Frankling Baker, Jincy Emily Baker, and John Franklin
Baker, Jr.

[234] She is listed as a child in the above Application for Letter of Administration.

[235] I found her marriage license to Robert W. Williams in Sumter County,FL (Bk 3,
Pg 127).

[236] Later documents in probate papers indicate she married Robert W. Williams.

[237] She is listed as a child in the above mentioned Application for Letter of
Administration.

[238] Later documents in probate papers indicate she married L.E. Billingsley. I
found her marriage to L.E. Billingsley in Sumter Co., FL (Bk. 3, Pg. 167)

[239] Ruth Baker Cason's notes included her marriage date from Sumter Co.

[240] He lived in Wauchula, FL at the time of his half sister's death, Sarah Baker
Allman. I visited his grave 5/97. He is buried with his second wife,
Cleopatra White. I found his marriage licenses in Sumter Co., FL. First
marriage to Lizzie McClamma (Bk 4, Pg 233). His marriage license says he is
from Glen Alice, FL. Second marriage to Cleopatra White (Bk 4, Pg 428).

[241] Her marriage date from Hernando Co., FL records (Bk 1, Pg 133). She lived in
Wauchula, FL at the time of her half sister's death, Sarah Baker Allman. She
is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (next to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,
5579 C.R. 316A off Hwy 48 W.) next to her husband Rufus Jone in what looks
like a Jones family plot. I visited her gravesite 12 May 1977. Ada Steed said
Parthenia and Rufus never had any children.
