Joseph's birth is recorded in the Yarmouth Co., Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, and most of his children are listed in the Barbour Collection of Vital Records of Connecticut. An inventory of Joseph's possessions at the time of death are on file in the Surrogate Office in Waterford, Jefferson Co., New York. He is listed on the 1790 census for Tolland Town, Tolland Co., Connecticut.
