Notes on Harmon Hoffman:
The genealogy of the Hoffman family is in Early Germans of New Jersey Facsimile Reprint Published in 1994 by Heritage Books, Inc.  The former Huffy Bicycle Company of Dayton, Ohio was founded by a descendant of this ancestor.

Notes on Mary Huffman:
In Hunterdon County NJ Mary married Lawrence Wene and had children Paul and Anna before her husband died.  Anna may have been named for Mary's mother, Annie Schuyler, and Paul for Lawrence's father.  Mary next married Lawrence's cousin Conrad "Coonrod" Wene and had five children, three of whom died young in Ohio.  Only Elizabeth and William survived to have families of their own.  Mary is on record as a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton Twp. Warren Co. OH and is buried alongside her three sons John, Coonrod and Lawrence in the Murdock Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  Also buried there are two daughters of Paul Wene and a son of William Wene.  Mary's sister Elizabeth Huffman was married to Michael Roat and was a neighbor of Mary's in Hamilton Twp. Her brother Peter also lived nearby for a time before he moved to Indiana when Paul and Anna did in about 1856.  Mary's tombstone, a flat, tan, tall stone pointed on the top is identical to the three stones of her sons buried with her in a row.  Her second husband Coonrod is in the I.O.O.F cemetery in Edenton, Clermont Co. OH.  Anna Wene Elsten also had a son Coonrod as did her brother Paul.
