Deposed John LE GEYT - Said he was passing the old sheep shed on Petane Beach, when he thought he saw someone sleeping. He was in the company of a man named PHILLIPS. They went in and found that the deceased had cut his throat. Deceased at that time was still alive and said he had cut his throat on the preceding morning. He was conveyed to the hospital. John CARVER - Son of the deceased, said his father had been ill and out of employment for a month past and was in a despondent state of mind. Death was due to loss of blood, shock to the system and exposure after his self inflicted injuries. The jury returned a verdict of suicide whilst suffering from temporary insanity.
