Adell M LADD was born in 1858. She died on 30 Sep 1895. Adell's birth date is based on her age of 12 in 1870 Hermon census. Censuses had other spellings of her first name, Adele and Adelia. She left a daughter, Ethel Grant, at her death; this information as well as her husband's name and death date came from a Petition for Judicial Settlement of the Estate of Lyman Ladd on 27 Jan 1913 signed by Spencer Ladd. Parents: Lyman LADD and Julia C PHELPS.
Azro A LADD was born in Oct 1850 in Parishville, NY. He died on 5 Sep 1915 in Ogdensburg, NY. He was buried on 8 Sep 1915 in Hermon, NY Cemetery. From The Courier in Hermon, NY dated 8 May 1889: "Those who have young stock to put out to pasture during the coming season should call S. H. or A. A. Ladd. Pasture within six miles of village."
In the 1900 Town of Hermon census, dwelling 286 and family 297, Azro's name is spelled as Asrorl, and it says they were married for 30 years.
Azro was likely born in Parishville, NY where his parents lived in the 1850 census, but his obituary says that he was born in Hermon, NY. His mother's obituary says that the family came to Hermon in 1853; he was born in 1850.
The Ogdensburg Advance and St. Lawrence Weekly Democrat reported on 4 October 1906 under Hermon news: "Azro Ladd has sold his three year old colt to James Walmsley for $100."
Azro died at the Ogdensburg City Hospital; the Ogdensburg Journal of 8 September 1915 on page 6 gives his name in error as Ezro Todd (the handwriting of those days caused many errors).
On 8 September 1915, the Gouverneur Free Press gave this obituary for Azro on page 2:
Old Resident of Hermon Who Passed Away in the Ogdensburg Hospital Saturday
Azro Ladd, a lifelong resident of Hermon died in the Ogdensburg City Hospital Saturday after a week's illness, aged 66 years. Mr. Ladd had been at Bigelow and was taken ill there. He decided to go to the hospital for treatment and his relatives and friends in the vicinity heard no more from him until Monday forenoon when his son was notified of his death.
Mr. Ladd was born in Hermon, a son of Lyman and Julia Fenton (note: her last name was Phelps not Fenton) Ladd and practically his entire life was spent there where he followed various callings.
Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Eugene Ladd, a well known farmer of the Scotch Settlement district of this town and Ernest Ladd of Hermon; a brother Spencer Ladd and a sister, Miss Chloe Ladd both of Hermon. The body was taken from Ogdensburg to Hermon by Undertaker Frank W. Sprague of this village yesterday forenoon, and the funeral services were conducted from the Baptist Church there at 1 o'clock this afternoon. Burial was made in the Hermon Cemetery."
An infant son is buried with Azro and Carrie. Parents: Lyman LADD and Julia C PHELPS.
Chloe Edith LADD was born on 18 Jan 1868 in Hermon, NY. She died on 1 Dec 1940. She was buried in Hermon, NY Cemetery. Her niece, Ethel Fordham Grant (1878 - 1940) and Chloe are buried beside each other in the cemetery. Chloe and Ethel are living in the same house in the 1920 Hermon census. In that census, Chloe is listed as a widow.
Chloe's obituary was in the Ogdensburg Journal on 6 December 1940. She was born on Maple Street in Hermon, always living in the same house. She died at the Moulton Nursing Home. Parents: Lyman LADD and Julia C PHELPS.
Daughter 1 LADD.
Daughter 2 LADD.
Delilah J LADD was born on 27 Aug 1847 in NY State. She died on 23 Jun 1871 in Hermon, NY. She was buried in Hermon, NY Cemetery. Delilah was age 24y 9m 27d per her tombstone when she died; therefore, her calculated birth date is 27 August 1846. There is likely not correct because she would have been born less than 8 months after Spencer. Her tombstone says she was born in 1847; this agrees with her being 12 in the 1 August 1860 Hermon census. Her children, Lora and Edwin, were living with her father at the time of the 1880 Hermon census. Parents: Lyman LADD and Julia C PHELPS.
Ernest Riley LADD was born on 25 Aug 1876 in Town of Hermon, NY. He died on 8 Apr 1963 in Gouverneur, NY at his home, 20 Eckman Street. He was buried on 10 Apr 1963 in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, NY. Ernest used Burr Green funeral home in Waddington. Most of his information came from his obituary; his middle name came from his daughter, Gladys. In the 1900 Town of Hermon census, Ernest and Minnie were living with his parents. In the 1905 Hermon Village census, Ernest's occupation was house painter. In the 27 January 1920 Town of Rossie census, Ernest lived with Minnie, Julia, and Gladys and was a dairy farmer. In the 24 April 1930 Gouverneur Village census, Ernest, Minnie, and Gladys lived at 72 Parker Street, and he was a building painter.
In the 1940 census, Ernest (63), Minnie (62), and Gladys (25) lived in Gouverneur. Ernest was a painter and decorator, and he worked 45 hours during the week of March 24 - 30, 1940. The highest grade they had completed was: Ernest 7th, Minnie 7th, and Gladys 4 years of high school.

Note: Point Airy was an asylum built on the St. Lawrence River near Ogdensburg.
Her death date, three children's names, and her husband's name came from a Petition for Judicial Settlement of the Estate of Lyman Ladd on 27 Jan 1913 signed by Spencer Ladd. The fourth child, Goldie, was found by her death record where Esmerelda's name was given as Aldo. In her son Lyman's birth record, her name was given as Elisa. Parents: Lyman LADD and Julia C PHELPS.

Most of Eugene's information came from his obituary in the Gouverneur Tribune Press on 24 April 1924, which said he was born in 1872. However, funeral records found in the Gouverneur Historical Museum and the 1900 Town of DeKalb census say that he was born in 1871. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
