Franklin Wade (Frank) HARMER was born on 28 Aug 1940 in Ogdensburg, NY. He died on 11 Aug 2008 in Potsdam, NY at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. He was buried on 14 Aug 2008 in Hermon Cemetery, Hermon, NY. Frank's information came from his obituary in the Watertown Daily Times on 13 August 2008. He owned and operated Artco Ambulance Service in Flatbush, Brooklyn, from 1961 to 1976, when he sold the business. Upon returning to the Pyrites and Canton area in 1977, he ran his own trash removal business until selling to Waste Stream in 1996. He continued to operate Frank's Bottle and Can Redemption, which he established in 1983.
He left Canton High School in his senior year to join the Army. While a member of the military police on the Mexican border, he received his general equivalency diploma.
Frank enjoyed volunteering and was chief of the Pyrites Fire Department for many years and a member and past president of the St. Lawrence County Fire Police. He was a member of American Legion Post 74.
He was an enthusiastic member of the Friends of St. Lawrence Hockey, attending all of the men's and women's home hockey games. He also enjoyed watching New York Yankees baseball. Parents: Thomas John HARMER and Frances Virginia JAMES.

The Gouverneur Tribune Press reported on 26 March 1930: "Mrs. Julia Stephens, and aged lady, is quite ill at this time. Mrs. Stephens celebrated her 84th birthday," March 17th. This would make her birth date 17 March 1846.

Oswegatchie Cemetery records indicate that she was born in 1846. In the 1870 Town of Russell census, she was 28, indicating that she was born in 1842. NYS vitals records show her death date as 2 April 1930, under the name Julia A. H. Stephens. In the 3 January 1920 Oswegatchie census, Julia Stephens was 73, supporting the 1846 birth.

Julia's death record was found at the Town of Fine Clerk's Office. It gave her middle name as Ann, her birthplace as Lisbon, NY, and her father's name and birthplace as James Harrison, England.
