His tombstones gives his name as Morris. It seems that the French name for Morris is Maurice. One tombstone says that Morris was born in 1910; another one says 1912; based on the 1920 and 1930 censuses, 1910 would be the correct date of birth. He died of tuberculosis. In the 1940 Town of Oswegatchie, Theresa was 15 and living in Heuvelton with her grandparents, James and Lettie Chambers. She had completed two years of high school. It's not known where Theresa's Baptism date came from, but it is not being changed yet. However, Father O'Brien at St. Raphel's Catholic Church in Heuvelton said that she was Baptised on 21 May 1932 at St. Raphel's with the name (Alvira) Theresa Chambers. He provided this information on 20 January 2013. Theresa graduated from Heuvelton High School in 1941. Theresa and Don's wedding announcement was in the St. Lawrence Plaindealer, Canton, NY on 3 December 1946. NY State records show they got their marriage license in the Town of Oswegatchie, likely, in Heuvelton. Their wedding announcement was also in the Ogdensburg Journal on 29 November 1946, page 4. The announcement read: "DeGrasse Girl, Rensselaer Falls Man Are Married. Rensselaer Falls - In a ceremony performed in the parsonage of the Methodist Church at Edwards on Thursday evening, November 21st, at 8:30 o'clock, Miss Theresa A. Chambers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chambers of DeGrasse, became the bride of Donald Roy Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Simmons of Rensselaer Falls. The Rev. Wilbert O. Hull, pastor of the church officiated. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hance, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. Both the bride and her attendant wore powder blue suits with black accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Simmons are temporarily residing at the home of Mr. Simmons' parents. Mrs. Simmons was graduated from Heuvelton High School in 1941. Since that time she has resided with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chambers of Heuvelton. Mr. Simmons attended the Kelley School and Rensselaer Falls High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps on September 27, 1945 and served in China for 10 months. He received and honorable discharge on November 14th." Theresa was Catholic, but she and Don were not married in a Catholic Church. Therefore, she lost her Catholic rites. Theresa wanted to start attending church again, so they got married again in St. Henry's Catholic Church in DeKalb Junction on 20 June 1959 by Rev. George Whittaker. When Timmy heard that his Dad was getting married, he was excited because he thought he was getting a new Mom. He must have had a difference of opinion with his Mom just before then but quickly got over it. The Gouverneur Tribune Press reported on 31 January 1968 under Rensselaer Falls news: "Mrs. Donald Simmons was taken by the Denesha ambulance DeKalb Junction to the hospital in Kingston, Ontario on January 22."
