139. Benjamin⁶ Wellman Jr. (Benjamin⁵, Ebenezer⁴, Isaac³, Isaac², Thomas¹) was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 24 October 1788. He died 5 November 1865 in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine.

He married Rachel Genthner on 4 July 1817 in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine.⁽²⁷⁸⁾

Benjamin served as a private during the War of 1812. He was in Capt. George Clouse's Company of Lieut. Col. S. Thatcher's Regiment raised at Waldoboro to serve at Camden from 3 September to 10 September 1814.

Benjamin Wellman Jr. and Rachel Genthner had the following children:

199 i. Mary Washington⁷ Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 4 July 1819.⁽²⁷⁹⁾ She married William Bidwell. Ten children, "living in the west" in 1915.

He died about 1908.⁽²⁸⁰⁾

200 ii. Sally G. Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 25 February 1822.⁽²⁸¹⁾

201 iii. Caroline T. Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 18 March 1824.⁽²⁸²⁾

202 iv. Benjamin Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 17 March 1826.⁽²⁸³⁾ He died 29 June 1896 in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married twice. He married (1) Julia Burns. Six children, born at Waldoboro, Maine.

He married (2) Sarah Jane Cunningham. Sarah was born about 1841 in Newcastle, Lincoln County, Maine. Sarah was the daughter of Robert Cunningham and Martha Sherman.

203 v. James Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 26 April 1828.⁽²⁸⁴⁾ He died young.

204 vi. Joshua Wellman was born in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine 12 May 1830. He died 29 November 1910 in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine. He married Margaret Angeline Wellman on 5 December 1850 in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine.⁽²⁸⁵⁾ David and Margaret were second cousins. Six children, born at Waldoboro.

Margaret was born 30 May 1832 in Bremen, Lincoln County, Maine.⁽²⁸⁶⁾ Margaret was the daughter of David Williams Wellman and Fannie Miller. She died 6 August 1911 in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine.
