DICKSON, Mrs. Hester B. BAUSMA
Funeral services for Mrs. Hester B. DICKSON, 75, who died December 15, 1928, at Mammoth, Arizona, were conducted with Rev. WESTERN of the Methodist church officiating. Miss OSBORN and Mrs. SCOTT, accompanied by Mrs. J. T. MILNER, furnished music at the services. Interment was made in the Bowie Cemetery. Mrs. DICKSON was born June 14, 1853, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Seven of eight children survive her. They are Ford DICKSON, Mammoth; Mrs. Myra BLAIR, Los Angeles; John W. DICKSON, Paradise, Arizona; Lamile DICKSON, Tombstone; Antico DICKSON, Bisbee; Mrs. Mona DAY, Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Seora IMEL, Ponca City, Oklahoma. James E. DICKSON came to this district in 1898, purchasing a ranch in Bear Springs Pass. Mrs. Dickson and family joined him in 1904. Mr. Dickson died in 1917 and since that time Mrs. Dickson lived with her children. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.     BARNETT MARKS and SON FORM LAW FIRM HERE
    Announcement of the partnership of Barnett E. MARKS, Phoenix attorney, and his son, Harold A. MARKS, under the firm name of Marks and Marks, was made yesterday by the senior member of the new firm. The firm will retain the suite of offices in the Fleming block which have been occupied by Mr. Marks, Sr., for a number of years. The rooms have been redecorated and refinished and new furniture installed, making the suite one of the attractive offices of the city. Barnett E. MARKS has been practicing law in Phoenix for the past 22 years. He was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1906, two years after he came to Arizona. He is now assistant United States district attorney, a position he has held for the past year and a half. . . . Published in the Arizona Republic 12/28/1928.

    Tempe, Dec. 29 -- Mrs. Emma SCHMIDT, 74-year-old pioneer resident of Tempe, died at her home here this morning. Mrs. Schmidt was born in Muscatine, Iowa, in 1854. She spent the greater part of her early life in that state, coming to Arizona in 1892. She had been a resident of Tempe continuously since 1893. She was married to Ernest SCHMIDT in Iowa on April 13, 1876, and was the last surviving member of a family of nine children. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here two years ago. She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Lulu SCHMIDT KUNZ, Laura SCHMIDT and Irma SCHMIDT MITTEN; also three grandchildren and one niece who lives in Chicago. Mrs. Schmidt was the mother of Herman SCHMIDT, who died two years ago, and Henry F. SCHMIDT, who died in 1909. She was an active member of the Congregational church here and took a leading part in church afairs. Through her long residence here she was well known throughout this section. Funeral services will be held Monday from the Schmidt family home. Burial will be in Double Butte cemetery here. Arizona Republican, Sunday Morning, December 30, 1928, Section Nineteen, Page Nine.
    MIAMI: Adams Family Visiting Friends Mr. and Mrs. H. F. ADAMS of Inspiration motored to Clarkdale for the holidays to visit a sister of Mrs. ADAMS. They were joined by Mr. ADAMS' sister, Mrs. Alice ADAMS KNIPE in Phoenix.
    Miss LUNDBERG is Honored Visitor Mrs. CARL LUNDBERG, formerly Miss JESSIE PERKINS, of Long Beach is the house guest of her sister, Mrs. E. H. McEACHRAN for the holiday season. Those who have honored Mrs. LUNDBERG are: Mrs. E. H. McEACHREN, Mrs. JOSEPH SATTLER, Mrs. A. J. McDERMID, and Mrs. C. F. FLOSS.
    Miami Residents Attend Reunion W. D. HILL accompanied by his niece and grandchild, Miss FLOY KINNERR, and FLOY HILL left December 22 for Los Angeles where they will attend a family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. PAUL HILL.
    Students Visiting Parents Miss Josephine McDONALD, a student at St. Mary's Academy in Los Angeles, Miss Catherine McDONALD and Miss Veronica McDONALD, who have been attending the University of Arizona, arrived home December 23 to spend the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix McDONALD, of Inspiration.
