Nils Jensson was the lagmann (judge) for the upper court in Stavanger between 1550 and 1558. In 1559, he accompanied other Norwegian noblemen to the coronation of King Frederik II in Copenhagen. Nils was a member of the Losna family and belonged to the lower nobility (lågadel). He bore the same arms as his great-grandfather, Fartegn Filippusson of Simling.
