NOTE BY CAROLYN WHITAKER: Due to John's will being EXTREMELY SPECIFIC; I therefore do not believe that my 4th great grandfather Lewis Henry Click OR Malachi Click are either one of John's children. I believe that John was an Uncle of Lewis Henry Click and great uncle of Malachi Click, who's family refers to an "Ole Jonas" or perhaps the name has been mispronounced down through the generations and instead of "Ole Jonas" could have been "Ole Johannes". There is not a doubt in my mind that John Glick/Click is related to our family. The paths the families have taken together are not coincidental.
From the Orphan Court records found in Lancaster Co Pennsylvania it states that Johann Conrad Gluck's daughter, Maria Barbara Gluck and her husband Adam Loch went to Virginia (sister of Lewis Henry Click aka Ludwig Henrich Gluck). I have now found Maria Barbara's family in Pendleton Co. Virginia, and we have a deed to prove it. They were in Pendleton County by 3 May 1769 when he purchased (as Adam Lock) 88 acres from Nicholas Seybert for £10, described as being on the mountain between the South Fork and the South Branch of the Potomac. It had been patented to Jacob Seybert, the father of the grantor, on 10 November 1757 and adjoined Michael Mallow's line.
Maria Barbara's marriage record is recorded in the LDS records as "LACK", which I believe is a mistranslation from the German records:
REF: LDS FAMILY SEARCH - IGI
Maria Barbara LACK Sex: F Marriage(s): Spouse: Adam LOEH Marriage: 4 Mar 1760 Host Reformed Ch, Tulpehocken Twp, Berks, Pennsylvania Source Information: Batch number: Dates Source Call No. Type Printout Call No. Type M504581 1752-1760 0020529 IT 1 Film 1002619
Tulpehocken Twp, Berks, Pennsylvania is an area where many of the families that married into the John Glick family came out of including the Stauffers, Garber/Gerber, Alexander, and more. This borders Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania and some of these families went over into Lancaster as well.
