A Tree Of Many Branches
The Meyer(s) family came from Baden, Germany about 1850 to Rome, New York. Most of the original family remained in this area and raised their families. Leopold & Odelia Meyer were the parents of seven sons and one daughter. Alexander, Frank, John, Leopold and Felix remained in New York throughout their lives. Maximilian moved to Illinois and lived there with his family until his death. Albert moved to Texas and to this day we haven't been able to locate information on his life or death during that time. Gertrude married in New York and moved to Illinois where she stayed until her death.
The Candee family from the info we have, came from France. It is said that all Candee's are descended from the son Zaccheus who was born in CT in 1640.
We have researched obituaries, censuses, cemetery records, marriage & death certificates to obtain most of the information. Other information as well as pictures, have been obtained from family members.
