Unidentified Gerking Picture Post Cards
|
Over the years many unidentified Gerking pictures and picture post
cards have ended up in the Family's collection, and we'd like to try to
identify them. Most of the pictures in these two sets are probably
of Gerkings who moved west, but who knows who else may be lurking there? These links will take you to thumbnails of the pictures and post cards.
Clicking on a thumbnail will take you to a larger, more detailed

| Samuel Isaiah Gerking: From Florida to California in Only 1 Year, 7 Months, 27 Days |
In 1902 Sam moved his family, including at least 10 children, from
Yolo Co., CA, to Putnam Co., FL, and in 1903 they began their return
journey to Yolo Co. These pages are a record of the return trip, which
lasted from February 25, 1903 to October 22, 1904. Graphics intensive. |
| Betty Gerking Roach Photo Album |
Betty loaned us an old leather photo album in order to scan and
preserve the pictures. Then she loaned even more albums, which are
still in the scanning process but which will eventually show up in
these pages. |
| Elvira Annette "Nettie" (Smith) Gerking Tombstone Rubbing |
A beautiful rubbing of Elvira Annette "Nettie" Gerking's tombstone
done by Arnold Cox. Maybe this one will inspire more. There's also now a picture of "Elvira" as a baby, made as a post card.

"Grandfather Gerkins Family," but who are the people in the picture?
If you recognize someone, please send email, and we'll share whatever results we get.The pictures may be slow to
load on slower internet connections. |
