Written on letterhead stationary of Henry J. Aten, Real

My dear Dr. Thompson: -
I enclose the letter received from the Rev. Davis of
Bound Brook, and one from Mr. Leonard. I have written Mr. Davis for a copy of his address. The other letter contains a reference to a marriage in 1825, that may interest you. Both may be returned when you are through with them. The Auten question is a large one, but I think we shall yet settle it.
I find that the town of Jerseytown, Columbia Co. Pa. was founded by emigrants from N.J. That among them were De Motts and Willevers. A Willever woman and a descendant of one of the Atens, was at our reunion last year. I have written for further particulars.
I thank you for your portrait, and am especially interested in the biograph-sketch printed on the back thereof. The little time I have had to examine the Wynkoop genealogy, gives me a very favorable impression of it. Indeed, your recommendation was sufficient to make me approve the work.
