Alice E. Bartelme
Alice E. Bartelme, age 90, Hayward, Wis., formerly of Clintonville, died Monday morning, Jan. 1, 2001, at Care Partners Care Center in Hayward.
Alice was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Bowler, the daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Bartelme) Matz. She grew up on a farm outside of Bowler. After her brother, Herman, took over the farm, she and her mother moved to the Village of Bowler. Alice was united in marriage to Theodore G. Bartelme on Oct. 10, 1936, in Bowler. The couple continued to live in Bowler until 1950 when they moved to Clintonville. Alice was a housewife all her life, taking care of her daughter and son as well as working at the canning factory in Clintonville during the summer months. Upon retirement, the couple enjoyed their cottage at Post Lake, Wis. for several years. In 1998, the couple moved to Hayward where they lived since. Alice was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where she was active in the church choir and assisted in counting the offering. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include: her husband, Theodore; daughter, Gretchen (Harold) Burton of Hayward; son, Thomas (Mary) Bartelme of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Eric and Alan Bartelme of Fond du Lac; sister, Louise Reetz of Shawano; a special cousin, Esther (Oscar) West of Marion. Alice was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Magdalen Druckrey, Edna Ferguson; one brother, Herman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery, Township of Almon, Shawano County. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
A memorial has been established for St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Clintonville is assisting her family with arrangements.

Victor C. Glocke
Victor C. Glocke, age 75, of 19 W. 14th Street, Clintonville, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Pine Manor Health Care Center in Embarrass.
Victor was born July 5, 1925, in the Township of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, the son of the late Edward and Minnie (Hendrick) Glocke. He later attended Nicholson Lutheran School in the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County. When Victor was 17 years old he became employed at Clintonville Motors where he was an auto mechanic for 49 years. On June 28, 1947, Victor was united in marriage to Lois Arndt in Shawano. The married couple moved to their current residence in Clintonville where they lived all of their married life. Victor enjoyed wood working and listening to polka music. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville.
Survivors include: his wife, Lois; two sons, Carl (Sandy) Glocke of Deer Park, Wis., Robert Glocke of Clintonville; two grandchildren, Todd (Renee) Glocke of Egan, Minn., Jeffrey (Nancee) Glocke of Mendota Heights, Minn.; two step-grandchildren, Tresa (Peter) Kronberger of Park Falls, Wis., Tim Ours of Francisville, Ind.; one great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Ellen) Glocke of New London, Leonard Glocke of Clintonville; two sisters, Gladys Kautz of Clintonville, Irene (Kenneth) Boyer of Clintonville. Victor was preceded in death by: two brothers, Clarence and Richard; two sisters, Dora Glass and Lillian Glocke.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan 2, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church until the time of services.
Victor's family wishes to thank Dr. Reinke, Dr. Gunther and Dr. Lyons from the Appleton Medical Center, Clintonville Ambulance and the staff at Pine Manor for their thoughtful care they provided.

Doris M. "Blondie' Kraus
Doris M. "Blondie' Kraus (Ebelt), age 71, of Little Chute, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Star of Hope Chapel in Highland Memorial Park. The visitation will be on Wednesday at the chapel from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, (920-733-5435) is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Adolph A. Leitzke
Adolph Leitzke, age 85, Shawano, received the crown of Eternal Life on Dec. 30, 2000.
He was born Dec. 21, 1915, in Bonduel, to the late Emil and Hattie (Wackerfuss) Leitzke. He married Carol Reichel on Jan. 13, 1955. She preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1987. Adolph was a life-long farmer. He farmed in the Town of Hartland for 30 years. In the 1950's he also co-owned Shawano County Roller Rink and worked at Hotz Mfg. in the early 1960's. While in good health, Adolph enjoyed bowling and rollerskating. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel and Zion Young Adult Fellowship.
Survivors include: two daughters, Heidi Boettcher of New Berlin, Charwyn (John) Dunlap of Green Bay; two sons, Tim Leitzke of Green Bay, Steve Leitzke of Appleton; step-son, Mike (Sandy) Groth of Shawano; eight grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Christy, Tara, Andrew, Adam, Elizabeth, Alissa, Landon; one sister, Dorothy Otte of Appleton. He was preceded in death by: three children, Anthony, Andrew, Luen; two brothers and a sister, Larry Leitzke, Hazel Broehm and infant, Walter Leitzke.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Cynthia L. Kristopeit officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel today from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Charlotte M. Menge
Charlotte M. Menge, age 79, of N3294 Menge Road, Tigerton, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2000, at Shawano Medical Center.
The former Charlotte Marie Cunningham was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to the late Albert and Louise Cunningham. She came to the Tigerton area as a teenager. On Dec. 2, 1939, she was united in marriage to Walter Menge at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton. The couple farmed for many years. Charlotte also worked part time jobs over the years as a cook and also as a store clerk in Tigerton. Charlotte was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. She liked canning and even sold vegetables from her garden. Charlotte enjoyed flowers, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: her husband, Walter; one daughter, Marsha (Dale) Lehman of Tigerton; two grandchildren, Kelly Lehman of Fond du Lac, Jason Lehman of Ixonia; two brothers, Claude Cunningham of Chicago, Clyde Cunningham of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Myrtle Johnson of Iron Mountain, Mich., Romona Hains of Florida. She was preceded in death by fifteen sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton with the Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 2, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Burton E. Doan
Burton E. Doan, age 81, of 95 Rose Park Court, Clintonville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 27, 1919, in Neopit, the son of Edward and Rose (Anderson) Doan. He graduated from Shawano High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was married on July 16, 1946, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Leona Buhrandt. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1993. He lived in the Milwaukee area for 40 years and moved to Clintonville in 1995. He was very active in several sports and in his later years enjoyed watching sports on television. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Burton is survived by: three sons, Bill (Evelyn) Doan, Janesville, Robert Doan, Waukesha, John Doan, Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Bart (Michelle) Doan, Angela (Andy) Schatschneider, Gary and Cory Doan; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter and Abby; two brothers, Jerry (Helen) Doan, New Mexico, Lorne Doan, Clintonville. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Timothy Lamkin officiating. Military rites will be by the Shawano American Legion at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home.

Walter E. Jacobs, age 89, Bowler, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Shawano Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church, Town of Red Springs, with the Rev. Timothy Lamkin officiating. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Friday, Jan. 5, from 5 until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Saturday until the time of services at the church. Bernice I. McHugh, age 87, of Shawano, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Appleton.
She was born Nov. 18, 1913, in the Town of Larrabee, the daughter of the late Fred and Martha (Wege) Geiger. She had lived in Clintonville, Marion, Caroline and had been a resident of Shawano since 1970. Bernice was the former owner of the Clint-Mar Supper Club in Marion and also worked in several area supper clubs. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Shawano.
Survivors include; one daughter, Marlene (Marvin) Christensen, Green Bay; one son, Clayton (Janet) McHugh, Shawano; six grandchildren, Pat (Beckie) McHugh, Connie McHugh, Michael (Patricia) Christensen, Mark (Paula) Christensen, Merlin Christensen, Marty (Nancy) Christensen; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Mabel McHugh, Shawano, Viola Mitchell, Denver, Delores (John) Mead, Ellison Bay, Gerald (Laverne) Geiger, Franklin, Marcella "Sally' Canniff, King. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with the Rev. Milton Staskal officiating. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Bertha "Genny" Graham, age 84, Tigerton, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 4, 2001, at Shawano Medical Center.
The former Bertha Gennivive Jensen was born Jan. 1, 1917, in the Town of Morris, Shawano County, to the late Ole and Lillian (Doan) Jensen. On July 18, 1933, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Graham at the courthouse in Shawano. The couple dairy farmed in the Town of Morris area for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1976. Genny enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved to travel and also enjoyed trips to the casino.
Survivors include: four children, Edward Graham of Tigerton, Philip (Norene) Graham of Tigerton, Ann (Leo) Bessette of Clintonville, Dorothy (Butch) Wedde of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Randy (Julia) Graham, Julie Graham, Debbie (Mark) Dedolph, Rick Graham, Tim Bessette, Terry Pethke, Todd (Lynn) Bessette, Jerry Wedde; 15 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jake, Jenny, Stephanie, Matthew, Donte, Robert, Ashley, Austin, Channing, Abby, Cody, Kayla, Luke, Gary; one sister, Viola Schoenrock of Marion; many other relatives and friends. Genny was preceded in death by: her husband; three grandsons, Robbie Graham, Tom Wedde and an infant Graham grandson; four brothers, John, Arnold and Norman Jensen and an infant Alyious.

Otto Suehring, age 91, formerly of Shawano, died Jan. 4, 2001, in Berlin. Funeral arrangements are pending with Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano.

Walter E. Jacobs
Walter E. Jacobs, age 89, of N8180 Moh He Con Nuck Rd., Bowler, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Shawano Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 15, 1911, in the Town of Red Springs, the son of the late Lyman and Olive (Miller) Jacobs. He lived and worked in Milwaukee for 22 years returning to Bowler in 1976. He retired from Brake & Equipment Co. in Milwaukee. He was a baseball pitcher in his early years and later enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting events. He also enjoyed hunting. He was married on Nov. 23, 1932, in the Town of Red Springs to Adelaide Martin. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2000. He was a member of Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church. He had served on the tribal council and was past president of the Church of the Wilderness.
He is survived by: two daughters, Larena (Peter F.) White, Neopit, Clara Mae (Carl) Sabourin, Butler; two sons, Gerald L. (Myrtle) Jacobs, Cleveland, Ohio, Gordon V. (Annadean) Jacobs, Crivitz; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church, Town of Red Springs, with the Rev. Timothy Lamkin officiating. Allen M. "Manzey' Loudbear
Allen M. "Manzey' Loudbear, 53, of Keshena, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, in Green Bay.
He was born Oct. 11, 1947, in Keshena, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Corn) Loudbear. He enjoyed walking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He taught history at the Menominee High School. He was in the United States Army and was in the Vietnam campaign from 1967 until 1969 where he earned the National Defense Service metal, the Vietnam Service metal and the Vietnam Campaign metal. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Keshena.
He is survived by: two daughters, Jamie (Pappy) Loudbear Wayka, Keshena, Angela Loudbear, Keshena; three grandchildren, David, Kayshia and Leander; four sisters, Joyce (Popeye) Boivin, Tacoma, Wash., Iris Pena, Green Bay, Pat Loudbear, Milwaukee, Maeda Loudbear, Shawano; one brother, Bernard "Sonny' (Sandy) Vann, Kelly Lake; special nephews, Juan, Pete, Shawn, Chris and Forest. He was preceded in death by one brother, Forrest, and one sister, Barbara.
Traditional funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Jamie and Pappy Loudbear Wayka residence at Council Hills Trailways in Keshena with Mr. David Grignon officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Jamie and Pappy Loudbear Wayka residence today until the time of services on Monday. Full military rites will be held at the residence by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation and the Menominee American Legion Post #497 following the service. Swedberg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Otto A. Suehring
Otto A. Suehring, age 91, of Markesan, formerly of the Shawano area, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in Berlin.
He was born July 14, 1909, in the Town of Pella, the son of the late Herman and Minnie (Kramer) Suehring. He was married on Nov. 23, 1934, in Bowler, to Margaret Steinke. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1992. He had been employed for 18 years by Johnson Motors in Waukegan, Illinois and was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Otto enjoyed baseball and fishing.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna (Wesley) Schulz, Markesan; one son, Delbert (Brenda) Suehring, Pleasant Prairie; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Hildegarde Suehring, Shawano; a special friend, Vi Kiersten. He was preceded in death by one grandson, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with spring burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Bowler. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. on Monday until the time of services.

Adolph T. Kupsky
Adolph T. Kupsky, age 88, of 520 S. Union Street, Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his home.
He was born April 4, 1912, in Shawano, the son of the late Herman and Minnie (Singer) Kupsky. On May 6, 1934, he was united in marriage to the former Cecelia Marquardt in Shawano. Mr. Kupsky was a longtime employee of Webers Veneer & Plywood Co. of Shawano, retiring in 1974. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and playing cards. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano and a member of the former Mens Club. For many years he participated in the church dartball league.
Survivors include: his wife, Cecelia of Shawano; children, Wesley (Judy) Kupsky of Cato, Wis., John (Elfrieda) Kupsky of Wausau, Karen (Walter) Jagodinski of St. Francis, Wis., Carl (Shirley) Kupsky of Sartell, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Rudolph Kupsky of Shawano; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Raymond) Werhand of Cudahy, Wis., Robert (Irene) Marquardt of Shawano, George (Sophie) Marquardt of Appleton, Milton (Angeline) Marquardt of Shawano, John Kostowicz of Milwaukee, Nellie Marquardt of Appleton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, LaNida Kupsky and a brother, Lester Kupsky, in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Pastor Fred Zimmermann officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. today at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for St. James Lutheran Church has been established in his memory.

Doris "Frenchie' Sullivan
Doris "Frenchie" Sullivan, age 80, Neopit, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Appleton.
She was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Neopit, the daughter of the late Bert and Beatrice (Clark) Chevalier. Doris lived all her life at Neopit and was the librarian at the Johnson O'Malley Resource Center at St. Anthony School for many years. She was also a bus driver for 10 years with a nine year safe driving record. Doris was a member of the Great Lakes Inter-tribal Council for the Elderly. She enjoyed bingo, family gatherings, pow-wows and being out with other people. She married Deacon Thomas "Sully" Sullivan in September of 1956. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1991. Doris was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Schoenstatt Family.
Survivors include: eight children, Richard P. Schanandore of Keshena, Doris Schanandore of Green Bay, Dewey Schanandore of Madison, LaVonne (special friend, Elmer Welch) Schanandore of Neopit, Russell Schanandore of Oshkosh, Rose Schanandore of Middle Village, Mary (Alex) Menore of Neopit, Gary Grignon of Neopit; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mae Chevalier of Keshena; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sullivan residence in Neopit today from 2 p.m. until the procession leaves for the church on Thursday. There will be a Schoenstatt Family Rosary on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and a parish rosary at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the residence. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Jan Andrew Gruber
Jan Andrew Gruber, age 60, of W5364 Lake Drive, Shawano, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Oshkosh, the son of Robert Gruber and the late Lorraine (Temple) Gruber. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He had been a Shawano resident for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and making things out of stained glass. He was married on June 7, 1996, to Barbara B. Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara, Shawano; one son, Van Gruber, Appleton; three grandchildren; his father, Robert Gruber, Florida; one brother, David (Esther) Gruber, West Allis.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. The family will receive friends from noon on Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Arlene J. (Gustafson) Hupke
Arlene was the beloved wife of the late Henry Hupke; loving mother of James (Patrice), William (Theresa Aftanas) and daughter-in-law, Janice Streibel; cherished grandmother of Steven and Michelle; great-grandmother of Haley; dear sister of Earl Gustafson, Nancy (Vern) Absalonsen, the late Donald (Delphine) Gustafson and sister-in-law, Dorothy ( the late John) Kopeck; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd. Street, Oak Lawn, Ill. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery Chapel, Hillside, Ill. Vernon C. Heling
Vernon C. Heling, age 73, of W6501 Church Road, Town of Waukechon, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 10, 2001, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Vernon was born April 30, 1927, in the Town of Waukechon, Shawano County, a son of the late Robert and Maggie (Brusewitz) Heling. He attended the Riverside Grade School. On Feb. 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to the former Donna Maltbey at St. John's Lutheran Church, Town of Belle Plaine. Vernon lived his whole life in the Town of Waukechon and will be remembered for his love of his family, the outdoors and his church. He enjoyed visits from his children and was especially entertained by his grandchildren, Amanda, Luke, Samantha, Brandon, Taylor and Maggie. He was still very involved in the family farm which was recognized as a Shawano County century farm in 1983, an honor that Vernon was very proud of. He also enjoyed going for rides in the woods as well as hunting. He was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, found great strength in his faith and turned to the church often during his struggle with cancer. He also served on the board of directors of the Shawano Equity Cooperative. He was involved in the church dartball league and served as a volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna; five children, Don (Jennifer) Heling, Virgil Heling and Mark (Sandra) Heling, all of the Town of Waukechon, Patty (Daniel) Bohm of the Town of Belle Plaine, Mitchell (Joelle) Heling of Black Creek; six grandchildren; three brothers, Milan (Lorraine) Heling of the Town of Hartland, Kenneth (Peggy) Heling of Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald (Ruth) Heling of Shawano; one sister, Virginia Utke of the Town of Belle Plaine. He was preceded in death by one brother, Orline, one sister, Junis Heling and one brother-in-law, Harry Utke.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Belle Plaine with Pastor Roland Golz officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano on Friday, Jan. 12, from 4 until 9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services. Rueben C. Radloff
Rueben C. Radloff, age 82, former Town of Washington resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001.
He was born June 14, 1918, to the late Herman and Emma (Polzin) Radloff in the Town of Washington. He married Gertrude Webster on May 18, 1941, in Shawano. The couple farmed in the Town of Washington. Gertie preceded him in death on March 3, 1995. Rueben enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, neighborhood card parties and making wood. He was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a former school board member for many years, a member of White Clay Lake Sportsman Club and a 50 year member of the Farm Bureau. Rueben was an insurance agent for Hartland-Richmond Insurance Company for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington and served on the finance committee for many years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lois (Tom) McClone of Bonduel; two sons, Donald (Barbara) Radloff of Cecil, Robert Radloff of Cecil; seven grandchildren, Amy (Tim) Engel, Cindy Radloff, Ricky Radloff, Jerry (Tracy) McClone, Mark (Kay) McClone, Paul (Kathy) McClone; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace (Alice) Radloff of Bonduel; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, one grandson, David McClone and a brother, Victor Radloff.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington, with the Rev. David P. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Irene M. Pyawasit
Irene M. Pyawasit, age 89, Neopit, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Shawano Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1911, at Keshena, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Dixon) Waupoose. She was a teacher at UW-Milwaukee where she taught Indian culture and language. She served on the Wisconsin Council of Aging and the Milwaukee Council of Aging. She was a member of AARP and was the oldest and longest member of N.C.A.I. She returned to this area in 1991. For many years, she was involved in the Northwest Trading Rendezvous. She preformed many marriages throughout the states. She was married in 1975 to Wallace Pyawasit in Rosebud, S. D. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include: one daughter, Dolores Yaiser of Neopit; three sons, Louis J. Dixon, Vyron N. Dixon, both of Neopit, Max R. (Lillie) Dixon of Birnamwood; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Waupoose Tomow.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Zoar Ceremonial Building with Mr. Myron Pyawasit officiating. Burial will be on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Zoar Indian Burial Ground. Friends may call at the Zoar Ceremonial Building after 3 p.m. today until the time of burial on Sunday.

John E. Robaidek
John E. Robaidek, 72, Sampson, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at a local hospital.
He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in the Town of Chase to the late Frank and Clara (Kolakowski) Robaidek. He married Nancy Desreumaux on Oct. 24, 1964, in Oconto Falls. He was a lifelong resident of Sampson where he operated a dairy farm for over 40 years. Prior to that he was self-employed for 12 years as a milk truck driver and worked at his father's cheese factory in Sampson. John was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chase, his entire life. He was also a member of the Oconto County Rural Urban Committee. In addition John was a member of the Oconto County Holstein Breeders Association, the Oconto County Farm Bureau and the Oconto County DHIA. He was an Oconto County Board supervisor from 1992 to 1994.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy; seven children, Ann (David) Jerovetz, Green Bay, Susan (Loyal) Reierson, Watertown, Jon (Wendy) Robaidek, Wisconsin Rapids, James (Charmaine) Robaidek, Shawano, Jerrold Robaidek, Madison, Joel Robaidek, Eau Claire, Jay Robaidek, Madison; seven grandchildren, Kellan Reierson, Mikayla Robaidek, Jeremy Robaidek, Brent Reierson, Michael Jerovetz, Trevor Reierson, Sarah Jerovetz; three sisters, Lucille (Rudolph) Kvasnica, New Berlin, Rita Gantenbein, West Bend, Joan (Robert) Jankowski, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Robaidek, Oregon, Wis.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eugene Robaidek, an infant brother, two brothers-in-law, Delbert Gantenbein and James "Bud' Desreumaux, one niece, Barbara Mankowski.

Lorraine Marie Fredenberg, age 67, of W7365 Maple Ave., Shawano, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Appleton.
She was born June 25, 1933, in Green Bay, the daughter of the late Bernard J. and Esther (Chevalier) Martin. She was married on Oct. 28, 1952, to Lionel L. Fredenberg.
She is survived by: her husband, Lionel L. Fredenberg, Shawano; three daughters, Lisa (Ron) Bult, Rita (Darrell) O'Katchicum, Mavis (Randy) Pieper, all of Shawano; one son, Martin (Jody) Fredenberg, Shawano; six grandchildren, Tawney Bult, Gina, Ginger and Craig Pieper, Weston Fredenberg, Kurt O'Katchicum; a special sister, Loretta (Vincent) DeJohn, Wheaton, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one grandson, Bret O'Katchicum.

Daniel E. Martin
Daniel E. Martin, age 59, of W9335 County Rd M, Shawano, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Shawano Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Milwaukee, the son of Adele (Hannemann) Martin and the late Edward Martin. He was a veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for over 30 years and worked for Ort Trucking of New London. He was married on Jan. 16, 1965, in West Allis to Kathleen Hansen. Daniel was a member of the Teamsters Union in Milwaukee and lived in Shawano the past 21 years.
He is survived by: his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Sandra Schoonover, Bessemer, Mich.; one son, Robert (Shannon) Martin, Germantown; a grandson, Patrick James Martin; his mother, Adele Martin, Milwaukee; a brother, Herman Martin, Sioux Falls, S.D.; father-in-law, Al Scheinpflug, Milwaukee; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth, and his mother-in-law, Ruth Scheinpflug.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, with the Rev. Phil Bogen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. John R. Pfeiler Sr.
John R. Pfeiler Sr., age 79, of 137 Flora Way, Clintonville, died Thursday evening, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home.
John was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late John E. and Christine (Ewald) Pfeiler. John grew up in Marion and attended Marion High School. Shortly after graduating from high school, John joined the United States Army in 1940 where he served his country in World War II. John was discharged from the army in 1945 and in 1947 he joined the Army National Guard of Wisconsin until he was discharged in 1966. During John's service to his country he met Carol Buchberger and the couple was later married on April 27, 1946, at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville. The married couple resided in the Clintonville area until Carol's death on June 14, 2000. John was employed at the Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville for 37 years as a purchasing agent and was a charter member and past president of the Eagle's Club in Clintonville. He loved gardening, was an avid outdoorsman, liked to read, especially Western novels, and collected baseball caps.
Survivors include: three daughters, Karen (Ron) Miller, De Pere, Patti (Dave) Smarzinski, Menasha, Jackie (Lee) Baldwin, Big Falls; three sons, Mike (Bonnie) Pfeiler, Annandale, Minn., Mark (Shari) Pfeiler, Clintonville, John (Melissa) Pfeiler Jr., Clintonville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one dog, Max. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, and an infant son, John.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Jeff Virchow officiating and interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Marcella O. Krueger, age 85, of N6679 E. Chicawatha Court, Town of Wescott, Shawano, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at the Shawano Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Hermansville, Michigan, the daughter of the late Guerno and Angela Marana. She was united in marriage to Fred W. Krueger in 1968. Mrs. Krueger was an avid gardener who also enjoyed cooking, antiques and crafts. She was active in the Cecil American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Cecil, and a member of the St. Johns Womens Auxiliary.
Survivors include: husband, Fred W. Ralph "Butch" Leo Yonke, age 57, of Berlin, died on Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at the Appleton Medical Center, Appleton.
He was born on July 9, 1943, in Oshkosh, the son of Ralph Sr. and Eleanor (Holden) Yonke. He married Penny (Pauline) Yeska on Oct. 10, 1964, at Saint Michael's Catholic Church of Berlin. Butch was employed at the Custom Coat Company of Berlin for several years, and then became employed as a shoemaker at the Russell Moccasin Company of Berlin for over 25 years. He loved to travel and camp and also enjoyed Nascar races and Green Bay Packer games. He was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church of Berlin and attended Berlin High School.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 36 years, Penny; also three daughters, Laurie (Douglas) Tank and Lana (Daniel) Tank, both of Waupun, and Leanne (Brian) Greff of Ripon; one brother, Lawrence "Mike" (Beverly) Yonke of Laughlin, Nev.; two sisters, Julie (Gary) Prellwitz and Vickie (Clay) Happersett, both of Berlin; two grandchildren, Adam and Taylor Tank; other relatives and many friends.

Caroline worked on the family farm in the Town of Green Valley most of her life. She moved to Shawano in 1989. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Green Valley.
Survivors include: one brother, Robert Nischke and one sister, Bertha Nischke, both residents of Heartland Health Care Center in Shawano; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Nischke, four sisters, Alma Noffke, Ella Metz, Christina Grysch and Anna Nischke, and one sister-in-law, Alice Nischke.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 12 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Green Valley, with Pastor Bruce Blocker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Ervin C. Larsen
Ervin C. Larsen, age 78, of 115 Robin Lane, Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Appleton Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 28, 1922, in the Town of Underhill, Oconto County, the son of the late Irving and Estella (Nelson) Larsen. His mother passed away when he was four years old and his father died when Ervin and his twin sister were six years old. He was raised by his loving maternal grandparents and an uncle and an aunt. On Dec. 13, 1944, he married Herthal Krueger. He was employed by Consolidated Badger-Morning Glory for 22 years and then by the Shawano County Highway Department until his retirement. Ervin enjoyed the outdoors. He was a master fly tier and trout fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son. He also greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ervin was a devoted Christian and a member of Zion Lutheran Church for the past 44 years.
He is survived by: his wife, Herthal; a son, Sheldon (Penny) Larsen, Green Bay; grandchildren, Christina (Joel) Ehrfurth, Green Bay, Andrew (Emily) Larsen, St. Paul; great-grandchildren, Katie and Jack Ehrfurth. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister, Erma Suprise.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating. Burial will be in Lake Drive Cemetery. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
