Reuben VINING and Nancy AVEREA
This Vining line is almost certainly descended from William VINING b. c1700 Marblehead MA and his wife Anna NICHOLS b. 9 Aug 1694/1696, Topsfield, Essex Co. MA. Our William is found in the 1750s and 1760s in Johnston Co., Duplin Co., and Dobbs Co. NC acquiring lands. The line continued to move southward, then westward from GA to TX, where Reuben and Nancy died. Reuben and Nancy may both have been married previously because they were older when they married. Also, the first two children's approximate birth dates occurr previous to the marriage record of Reuben and Nancy. The critical link in this line, at this point, is proof that our William is the William of MA. When we are able to prove that link, we can claim a Vining line back to the 1500s in Wincanton, Somersetshire, England.
