This Bible record was found on page 111 and 112 of a book of carbon copies of DAR records in the Corsicana Public Library, Corsicana, Texas. I have tried to type it as my copy appears. It seems that part of this document may be comments by the submitter (Mrs. Geo. A. Brewer?) that have been added to the actual factual part of the Bible record. I do not know how this family connects to the Rozell family that is married into my Haggard and Moore families and would appreciate more information if anyone can provide it.
ROZELLE FAMILY BIBLE
(Rozelle was a French name and pronounced by old Tenn. Family as Rozzle – but their descendants pronounced in Ro-zelle.)
(Given to Mrs. Geo. A. Brewer, 1935, while in Tennessee (who is related) by Mrs. Walter Steed, Riverside Drive, Nashville, Tenn. Mrs. Steed is descendant and has old cherry furniture in her home and lives not far from the old colonial red brick with white trim – the ancestral home, built by the Rozelles, and is situated on the Franklin Road)
Ashley Bascom Rozelle from Palmetto State, was b. June 11, 1802; was a prominent stockman in Williamson Co. Tenn., son of Solomon and Mary Rozelle. Mary was born in Md. While Solomon was born in N.C. Moved to West Tenn. Where the Ashley Bascom Rozelles lived for several years, in Shelby Co. near Memphis. An old Rozelle school house still there.
Six children:

2. Yerbie Rozelle
3. Rufus H. Rozelle
4. Martha B. Rozelle
5. Blackman L. Rozelle
6. Clayborn Rozelle
Ashley Bascom Rozelle became Methodist minister until 1833. Since then a local minister, marrying Mary Ralston 1828, who was born 1809, a daughter of Maj. Alexander Robeston; she died 1832 then he married Henrietta S. Burnett, daughter of Brooklyn Burnette (Mrs. Steed’s grandfather).

After death of 2nd wife he married 3rd Martha Ann Chambers, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Chambers of Va. Martha Ann born 1823 – had 4 children:

4. Lizzie B. Rozelle
