COMMENTS:  1) Jim Cooper (Austin):  "I'll see what I can find on Nicholas Jacks being from TN. The only thing I recall my dad saying about him was that there was a Jacks Landing on the Sabine R. I don't know whether it was a ferry, or what, or exactly where it was...my dad has a "bleeding" knife that belonged to ggrandpa Jacks. That would be Nick Jr." 2) Appointed by the Police Jury (Sabine) LA "to trace and lay out a road, commencing at F. Curtis' on Bayou Toro, and to intersect the road leading to Natchitoches at the nearest and best point near the former residence of Asa Hickman."
