Werner was diagnosed with an operable brain tumor on 29 October 2002 at Städtische Kliniken, Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany. The ca. 2 cm tumor could be removed in full, but was subsequently diagnosed as a metastasis of a non-small-cell bronchial carcinoma (lung cancer).12
Werner Fahlbusch died on 13 May 2003 at Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, at the age of 67 years after his 6 1/2 months fight with lung cancer.6,13 The memorial service was held on 17 May 2003 at Friedhof, Hollage/, Wallenhorst Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany, at 10.00 am. As per his wishes only closest family members were present.6
Werner Fahlbusch was cremated and, also according to his wishes his ashes buried in the unmarked graves of the cemetary at Friedhof Hollage/Wallenhorst.6
The obituary of Werner Fahlbusch dated 19 May 2003 in the newspaper Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (NOZ), Osnabrück, Germany, lists Astrid Kranzbühler as next of kin (daughter).14 Werner lived from 4 May 1962 to 13 May 2003 at Wiesenbachstr. 16, 49080 Osnabrück, Germany.6

     Maria Elisabeth Firnekorn was born on 16 August 1726 at Worms, Hessen, Germany. She was the daughter of Johann Heinrich Firnekorn and Anna Catharina Holzmüller (or Monntag).1 Maria Elisabeth married Otto Wilhelm Krantzbühler, son of Mattheus Krantzbühler and Margaretha Dorothea Lächeling, on 12 May 1744 at Worms, Hessen.
At age 41, Maria Elisabeth was widowed on 23 January 1768 through the death of her husband Otto Wilhelm at Worms, Hessen.


After Otto's death his widow Maria Elisabeth continued the business Buchdruckerei Worms and stayed proprietor until one year before her death. Initially, she succeeded in having her eldest son, Johann Nicolaus, appointed manager at only 16-years-old.2
     Wolfgang Hasch wrote in his article "Verlegerin mit Courage anno 1776".3

After the death of his brother Johann Nicolaus, Johann Daniel became 02 May 1774 factor in his mother's business.4

Under Maria Elisabeth and her son Johann Daniel, the bookprinting business Kranzbühler in Worms experienced its first peak. Under the management of Maria Elisabeth, who in those early times was one of few women who were involved in literature, were 9 - 10 printers and type setters employed. The business was located in the family owned house, in best location of (in 1938) "Kämmerergasse" no. 3.4

From 1776, the newspaper "Wormser Intelligenzblatt" was printed there. In January 1777, Maria Elisabeth purchased the newspaper from Heinrich Valentine Bender and it was then edited and printed by the Kranzbühler.5
     To the transfer of the Wormser Zeitung to the Kranzbühler, Wolfgang Hasch writes in his article "Vom Intelligenzblatt zur WZ".6
     Wolfgang Hasch continues: Emperor helps publisher.7

One year before her death, in 1789, Maria Elisabeth handed over the business to her son Johann Daniel.8
Maria Elisabeth Kranzbühler died on 3 October 1790 at Worms, Hessen, at the age of 64 years.4
