Johann Andreas Kranzbühler, nephew of the previous owner, takes over in 1819, after the death of his uncle, and will manage it until 1866.

The property corner Wollstraße and Valckenbergstraße (then Speyerer Straße) is purchased in the 1830's, so the business can also be extended considerably in physical size. At that time, a yearly subscription costs four Gulden.

In 1840, newspaper takes on a new look. It is published in four pages with a size of 18 x 22 cm. Also, the title page includes the crest of Worms again.

The events in the year 1848 bring changes in the reporting as well. For the first time, "unusual news of a political and military nature" are being published. The call for freedom of the press becomes louder.

Article 35 of the Hessen constitution does say: "Press and book printing are free in the Grandduchy" but this is reduced by the addition of: "Provided that current laws are observed".

While, until now, there have only been reports, now political opinions are published as well. Under the influence of the revolution of '48, the Grandduke issues an edict on 6 March 1848: "Freedom of the press is granted. Censorship is abolished". On 9 March 1848, the first uncensored newspaper is published.
