George was born 26 Oct 1841 in Portland, ME. He enlisted 13 Aug 1862 as a private in the 2nd Battery of Artillery, Maine Volunteers; wounded and discharged for promotion; 10 Mar 1864 promoted to position of 2nd Lt; 13 Jan 1865 commissioned 1st Lt; mustered out 17 Jan 1865. George lost his right hand in the service; he resided in East Bridgewater, MA.

1645 iii. Georgiana Skillings (#4626) was born in Portland, Cumberland, ME 12 Sep 1843.⁽³⁹²⁵⁾ She married he (Skillings). (he (Skillings) is #28679.) He was born in of RI.

Sargent says she married; husband unknown, but says he was of Rhode Island
