Ebenezer Francis's regt.; list of officers returned to be commissioned; ordered in Council Feb. 3, 1777, that said officers be commissioned; reported commissioned Feb. 3, 1777; also, Captain, Col. Benjamin Tupper's regt.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from Jan. 1, 1777, to April 2, 1777; reported died April 2, 1777; also, Captain, Col. Ebenezer Francis's regt.; subsistence allowed from date of engagement, Dec. 3 [1776], to time of arrival at Bennington; credited with 107 days subsistence, including allowance for 328 miles travel; also, account of the seven years half pay allowed agreeable to resolve of Aug. 24, 1780, to widows and orphans of officers who were killed or died in service; [Col.] Tupper's (10th) regt.; rank, Captain; reported died April 2, 1777; half pay allowed to April 2, 1784.

Nathan Noble served in 1777 under Capt John Skillings and was in the desperate battles of Hubbardton, Bemis Heights, Stillwater, and Saratoga. The Colonel and the Capt (John Skillings) were killed and in scaling the breastworks to take possession, Nathan was shot.

John5 Skillin (Edward4, Josiah3, John2, Thomas1), b Scarborough 15 Oct 1740; m Scarborough 5 Jun 1764 Hannah Hasty, b 13 May 1747, d/o William and Agnes (McCartney) Hasty. During the Rev War, John served in William Crocker's Company as a 1st Lt and as a Capt in Col Ebenezer Francis' 11th Mass Regt in 1777. He was killed in action 2 Apr 1777 at Fort Skeensborough, Bennington, VT. Hannah m2 24 Jul 1778 Col Benjamin Larrabee (3 children), who was John's commanding officer. Hannah d 26 Sep 1828 and is buried in the Black Point Cemetery, Lot 1008 with her daughter, Hannah (Larrabee?).
