Cecile M. (Birtz) Prunier, 80, of 11 Marble St., formerly of 25 Branch St., died yesterday in her home after an illness. Her husband, Ernest R. Prunier, died in 1979. She leaves a son, Gary E. Prunier of Princeton; two daughters, Judith S. Mattress and Theresa C. Turgeon, both of Worcester; two brothers, Emile Birtz of Worcester and Roland Birtz of Oakham; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Carol C. Gibson of Worcester, died in 1977. A sister, Grace M. Prunier of Albuquerque, N M died last November. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Elzear and Donalda (Thouin) Birtz, and lived here all her life. She was a clerk for 10 years at the former Birtz Market. She was previously a clerk at the former John C. MacInnes Co, department store. Mrs. Prunier was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the former St. Joseph's School Mothers Club. She was a former member of the parish Dames of St. Anne. The funeral will be held Wednesday from Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., with a mass at 10 .m. in St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Memorial Fund of St. Joseph's church, 41 Hamilton St, Worcester 01604; or the Hospice Program, Visiting Nurse Association of Central Massachusetts, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608.
