Abstract from History of Kennebunkport by Bradbury, p 235:

Cousins, Samuel and Elisha, lived in Arundel in 1764, as they paid a poll tax that year. Samuel m Susan Watson and moved to Cape Menan; Elisha m Bashaba Hamer and moved to Harpswell. They probably lived on Cousins' Point, near Turbat's Creek.

Elisha Cousins, b Wells 20 Nov 1735 s/o Ichabod and Ruth (Cole) Cousins (Hamor MS at Jesup Library, Bar Harbor); d Eden (nka Bar Harbor) 18 Jan 1816 (VRs); m 3 Dec 1758 Bathsheba Hamor, d/o John and Sarah (Huff) Hamor, b Sheepscot 1 Mar 1742 (Bar Harbor TRs), d Eden 23 Mar 1830 (VRs). Elisha called "Mt Desert pioneer" in his mother's will, proved 23 Nov 1768 (York Co). Mr. Cousins, his wife, and four children moved from Harpswell to Hull's Cove c1769 and settled at the head of Cove on what was known as "Walter Hamor Farm" (Hamor MS). Paid 5 Spanish milled dollars for a deGregoire grant 28 Mar 1792 containing 100 acres with boundaries between him, deGregoire and Hull's line (Han Co Deeds 1:446-448). Mr. Cousins was a prominent and influential citizen and took an active part in the public business of the plantation and town of Mount Desert and also of Eden after its incorporation. He and his wife were the founders of the Cousins family of Eden, Trenton, and Lamoine. He signed the oath of allegiance 1790 (TR).

NOTE: Desc of Thomas Brewer p 389 says Bathsheba Hamor married Robert Young; other researchers disagree and say that Robert Young (b c1763) m Bathsheba Cousins (dtr of Bathsheba Hamor and Elisha Cousins). Need to find out where Dorothy Brewer Erickson got her information.
