Anna Michaelis, born 1844, died November 7, 1915, buried in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain, CT with her husband, Gottfried, section 21, lot 1854. They are buried under a Michaelis headstone, which bears the names:

Anna and Gottfried married, in Prussia. Ellis Island records indicate that Anna and Gottfried Hooge came to America on November 26, 1897 on the Karlsruhe, from Breman, Germany. They traveled with 3 of their children, Bertha, age 17, Eduard, age 13 and Pauline, age 11. They were coming to join their son in America (can't find record of a son.) NOTE: This child has been identified as Wilhelm (or William) Hooge, first child listed below.

Wilhelm Hooge, Maria Hooge and Frank Hooge - Wilhelm Hooge, Maria Hooge and Franz Hooge (their son) came to America on September 10, 1923 on the President Filmore from Breman, Germany. I think that Wilhelm is Anna and Gottfried Hooge's oldest son, but cannot yet confirm. Ellis Island records indicate that Wilhelm, Maria and Frank came to join their brother-in-law and uncle, Paul Winkler, who lived at 182 Greenwood Street, New Britain, CT. There is a gravestone in Fairview Cemetary that carries the names Paul Winkler (1879 - 1983) and Bertha Winkler (1880- 1963) Bertha Hooge (daughter of Gottfried and Anna) was born in 1880, so I believe this is Bertha Hooge Winkler.

Wilhelm Hooge was born in Kattern, Germany on August 17, 1869. He died on July 31, 1934 and is buried with his wife and son in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain, CT, section 29, lot 47. Maria Hooge was born in Gusken, Germany on July 23, 1871; don't know maiden name. She died on November 28, 1941 and is buried with her husband and son in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain, CT.

Franz (Frank) Hubert Hooge was born in 1911 in Elberfeld, Germany and died on May 13, 1976. He is buried with his mother, father and wife in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain, CT. His wife is Estelle C. Hooge, born 1912, died August 21, 1990. Unsure of any children. There is a Frank Hooge listed in Edward Rudolph Hooge's funeral book.
