He died at Fairmont Hospital, San Leandro, CA. Immediate cause of death was hypertrophy prostate due to scrotal abscess, due to bowel obstruction (autopsy confirmed cause). Sarah Eunice Washburn was the fifth child of Catharine Davis Washburn and James E. Washburn. She was born on April 8th 1867 at Plainview, Minnesota. She spent most ofher girlhood around Lakes Allie and Preston near Hutchinson, Minn on a farm. She taught school in this vicinity. On July 9, 1891 she was married on the farm under an old hockberry tree to George Wilbert Skilling near Lake Allie Renville Co, Minn. The minister was S.D. Kernerer. Witnesses - William Eynon and Ira S. Shephard. She lived at several small towns in Illinois and Iowa. At Galesburg, Ill on May 20, 1892 Georgia Eunice was born and on Dec 8, 1893 at Princeton, Ill a little boy Wilbert Washburn (unreadable). She was divorced from her husband in December 1899. She then took a business course and worked in offices. The relatives kept the children until 1906 when she took them. She married Frank Lewis of Superior in 1907 which was a mistake another. She went to Kimball took up a Kin(unreadable) it went into a millenary store, she moved to Wash. State where she married David Gregoire on Nov 14, 1915. THey lived in Portland, Ore from then on. Gregoire died on April 19 (unreadable). Mother had a stroke on 18th 1950 and lived in a paralyzed condition until she was taken on Jan 30, 1951.

On 5 Jun 1999, I received a packet containing information (copies of death certificates, census copies, family group sheets, a biographical sheet, and a letter from George Skilling of Quebec) from Nancy Haugen, a descendant of George Wilbert Skilling. All of this information has been input into the Skillings database and my sincere thanks to Nancy for providing this information.

Some information was sent to Nancy Haugen by George Skilling who stated his information was compiled by Edgar Allen Poe Yates of Stoughten, MA in c1926, another descendant of Josiah and Sarah/Sally (Libby) Skilling. George is a great-grandson of Josiah and Sarah Skilling. George also stated that Glen B. Skilling, 168 Alfred St, Biddeford, ME 04005 was "recently active in the Skilling Family Org and may have more information."
