Adelbert P. Brown Campobello - Adelbert P. Brown, 74, died April 3, 1976 in the Charlotte County Hospital following a period of failing health. He was born on Campobello the son of Herman and Olive (Phinney) Brown. During his early years, he worked as a fisherman and later was employed by Jackson Bros. until his retirement several years ago. Survivors include one son, Herman of Wilson's Beach, Campobello; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Marie) Smith of St. Andrews; three brothers, Calvin and Lloyd of Campobello and ARchie of Toronto; seven grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral services were held at the United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. George Howe and the Rev. Francis Mabey officiating. Pall bearers were Malcolm Savage, Donald Jackson, Waldo Matthews, Lester Matthews, Newton Newman, and Elwin Brown. Interment was in the family plot in Wilson's Beach Cemetery.

Emily Jane Brown Mrs. Emily Jane Brown, beloved wife of Adelbert Brown of Wilson's Beach, N.B., passed away peacefully after several months illness which she bore with Christian fortitude. Mrs. Brown was born at Wilson's Beach in 1904, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Anthony and spent most of her life there. She had many admirable characteristics, chief of which was her loyalty to her family and neighbors, her loyalty to the church and her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her cheerful disposition endeared her to all who knew her and she will be sadly missed by the community.

She was active in all church activities, a member of the United Baptist Church, The Woman's Missionary Society, secretary of the Red Cross and a teacher in the United Baptist Sunday School. Also a member of the church choir and church clerk for many years.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter Marie; one son Herman; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Anthony, and four sisters, Mrs. Hazen Lomax, Little Lepreau, Mrs. Owen Lank, Mrs. Leslie Newman, and Mrs. Harry Martin of Wilsons Beach, and six brothers, Horace of Roxbury, Mass., Otis of Grand Manan, Howard of Black's Harbor, Lorin of St. Stephen, and Mayford and Lewis of Wilson's Beach.

The funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Leslie Newman and was largely attended. Rev. R.A. Snell, pastor of the United Baptist Church conducted the services assisted by Rev. J.A. Corey. The church choir sang "Sometime We'll Understand," and Mrs. Hartford Calder rendered a solo "Yes, There's One."

The pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Merrill Anthony, Burdell Anthony, Willard Anthony, Waitstell Anthony, Fred Anthony, and Ronald Brown. The floral tributes were numerous and included pieces from the United Baptist Church, The United Baptist Sunday School, The Wilson's Beach Missionary Society, The North Road Missionary Society, The Community Club, and the Campobellow Island Consolidated School.

Relatives from off the island were Horace Anthony, Roxbury, Mass.; Wellington Anthony, Newton Highlands, Mass.; Otis Anthony, Grand Manan; Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Lomax, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lomax, Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Lomax, Jr, and Lorin Lomax of Little Lepreau; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. Waitstell Anthony of Blacks Harbor; Miss Elizabeth Anthony of Fredericton; Theodore Lomax and Burdell Anthony of St. John; Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Anthony of St. Stephen; and Mr. and Mrs. EArle Metcalf and Merton Anthony of Lubec.
