Winniferd. J. Wood - Machias. Winniferd J. Wood, 72, of Machias, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Dec. 2, 1997. She was born April 5, 1925, the daughter of Wyman and Winnie (Blackwood) Johnson Sr. She was a homemaker and a fishpacker for 17 years. She also worked as a garment maker for LaDel Mfg. in Lawrencburg, Tenn. She is survived by four sons, Leslie Wood and his wife, Wendy of Machias, Ronald Wood and his wife Dawn of Machiasport, Glenroy Wood and his wife, Pam of Cutler, Alvin Wood and his wife, Sheryl of Lewiston; five daughters, [note: no mention of which husband fathered the five daughters] Kathryn and her husband, Allen of Ellsworth, Alberta and her husband, Tommy McDow of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Elaine and her husband, Dean Clark of Cameron, N.C., Wendy Libby of Baring, and Jocelyn Galante of Panama City, Fla.; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Anthony of Rogue Bluff, Cecila Sapia of Rocky Hill, Conn., Muriel Hall of Portland, and Helen Ereshrena of Sanford, N.C.; three brothers, Wyman Johnson Jr. of East Gramby, Conn., Calvin Johnson of Mount Air, Md., and Ernest Johnson of Portland; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two husbands, Ronald L. Wood Sr. and Cecil Huntley; her father and mother, along with two brothers, Stanley Johnson and Norman Johnson. It was her desire to have her body donated to science in hopes of finding a cure for cancer. Because of this, there will be no services held. She married twice. She married Cecil Huntley. as her 1st husband (Cecil Huntley is #52561.)

Cecil died bef 1997. She married Ronald L. Wood Sr. as her 2nd husband (Ronald L. Wood Sr is #52562.)

Ronald died bef 1997. Note: Because the obit did not specify which of her two husbands fathered her five daughters, I have temporarily assigned them to her 2nd husband, Ronald L. Wood Sr.
