Deacon Peter Ayer4, b Haverhill 1 Oct 1696. He was a tanner and lived in the west parish of Havehill. He m1 Lydia Perley of Boxford 17 Jan 1720/1; m2 Elizabeth Carlton 22 Jan 1750/1. He d in 1774; his will, dtd 10 Jan 1774, proved 7 Jul 1774. Children b Haverhill:

1. Jacob5, b 26 Oct 1721 2. Peter5, b 9 Oct 1724 3. Richard5, b 23 Jan 1726/7 4. Perley5, b 30 Sep 1732 5. John5, b 27 Feb 1735; d 3 Jan 1736/7 6. Joseph5, b 9 Sep 1736 7. Lydia5, b 26 Dec 1737; m1 David Haynes bef 1757; he was in the Battle of Bunker Hill, dying of camp fever in the same month; she m2 Nathaniel Perley of Boxford 10 Sep 1776 and both were living in Boxford in 1799; he dying there 18 Jul 1810.

Jacob5, b 26 Oct 1721; tanner, lived in Haverhill; a Baptist; m1 Sarah (?) bef 1750; she was his wife in 1761; m2 Mary, widow of Hezekiah Colby of Haverhill bef 1769; was adjudicated non compos mentis 6 Oct 1774; administration was granted on his estate 8 Jun 1790 and his wife Mary survived him, dying, his widow, 26 Jul 1798, aged 60. Prob no issue.

208 ii. Peter Ayer (#23253) was born in Haverhill, Essex, MA 9 Oct 1724.⁽⁵⁰¹⁾ Peter died by 6 May 1799 in Haverhill, Essex, MA, at 74 years of age.⁽⁵⁰²⁾ He married Mary Ayer 19 Aug 1779.⁽⁵⁰³⁾ prob no issue (Mary Ayer is #23254.)

Mary was born 13 Mar 1751 in Haverhill, Essex, MA.⁽⁵⁰⁴⁾ Mary was the daughter of Simon Ayer and Mary Webster. Mary died aft 6 May 1799 at approximately 48 years of age.⁽⁵⁰⁵⁾
