Glovers are Grateful to FSA for Financial Aid to Independence
Editor Log Cabin Democrat:
If you can give me a little space in our dear old paper I'd like very much to give my experience and views in regard to the farm security administration of Faulkner county. In 1940 I was broke financially, unalbe physically to make a crop and too old to get a job. I secured a loan of $350 from the FSA on a four-year set-up contract. My wife and I rented a small farm, stocked it with good Jersey cows, a pair of mules and farm tools and we went to work. By the good cooperation and advice of our farm supervisor and home supervisor, Mrs. McGuire, together with the whole office force and with our cooperation with them, we paid our loan off in full in three years instead of four. At the lcose of the year 1942 we released our rented farm, sold off our surplus cattle and the big barn of surplus hay, peanuts and other feed an bought us a little 20-acre farm home here at Wooster, paying all cash down for it.
My prayer is for the farm security to be kept going in our state and county. I know from experience it is the best thing our beloved government has done for the little down-and-out farmer that is willing to work and to cooperate with the good people. It is with heartfelt thnkfulness to the FSA and the supervisors for helping us in our successful achievements that we write this in behalf of the farm security administration.
