My 2nd cousin 3 times removed was born on 15 March 1908 and was baptised 12 April of that year. His parents were Rueben Ardron, a miner and Mary Ann. They had moved to 9 Piccadily Road, Swinton. (APR)  This agrees with a GRO index entry. (GRO ref Rotherham 9c 877 Jun 1908)

Barnett married Elsie Oates on 26 December 1933 at the Methodist Church, High Street, Rawmarsh by certificate. He was aged 25 and a fitter of 45 Brookfield Avenue, Swinton. His father, Rueben Ardron, was a coal hewer. Elsie was aged 24 and a shop assistant of 83 Main Street, Ryecroft, Rawmarsh. Her father was James Oates (deceased), a miner. Witnesses were John Schofield, Cathy Haynes(?) and Norman Ardron. (GRO cert MXA909334 + GRO ref Rotherham 9c 1738 Dec 1933 - Oates)

He worked as a colliery electrician at the Manvers Main Colliery. (Jack Ardron II)

Elsie OATES (1909 - 1990)
She was born on 28 October 1909, daughter of James Oates, a miner (based on date of birth shown on the GRO death index + marriage cert + GRO ref Rotherham 9c 786 Dec 1909)

Her will was probated on 20 December 1990: "Ardron, Elsie of 83 Main Street Rawmarsh Rotherham died 29 November 1990. Probate Leeds 20 December. Not exceeding 115000 (9051614341M)" (Wills & Admons 1990, Family Division of the High Court)
