LARS NIELSEN and family of Vejby
(Unnerup), Frederiksborg, Denmark;
His daughter MAREN LARSEN and her husbands
Hans Jensen and Jens Jorgensen/ James Johnson
all immigrants to the Utah in the USA
* the multiple surnames listed above is due to the name changes the
Danish emigrants went through as they moved from the Danish patronymic custom
to American surname custom, and then anglicized their names. Jens Larsen
adopted his father's surname "Jorgensen" upon his arrival in the U.S.
and then anglicized his name to James Johnson. Maren Larsdatter, or
Larsen, adopted her father's surname "Nielsen," upon her arrival in
the U.S. Her first husband's surname was Jensen; she later married Jens
Jorgensen; hence -- Larsen, Nielsen, Jensen, Jorgensen and Johnson can all be
found as her surnames.
