    • Other Sources:
      • On census forms her name changed from Maribel or Maybel to Mabell to Mabel.
      • No information about Mabel's father has been found. There is a mystery as to Mabel's father ever being married to Rossena. The 1910 census indicates that the marriage of Rossena and Russell Arborn was the first for both. On the 1870 census it seems as if Mabel's last name is Weeks while on the 1880 census it seems as if her last name is Gray/Grey (or maybe middle name?). It seems unusual that on the 1870 census Mabel at age 4 was being raised by her grandparents, William and Caroline Weeks while Rossena cannot be found in the 1870 census anywhere. Also, that on the 1880 census Mabel at age 14 was being raised by her aunt Caroline Griffin while Rossena was married to Russell Arborn and had 5 more children. On the 1900 census it indicates Rossena had 8 children with 6 living and on the 1910 census it indicates she had 8 children and 5? living. On three censuses it indicates Mabel's father was born in California and one says "unknown.." Russell Arborn was born in Australia so he is not her father.
