Langlade County Civil War 1890 Census Veterans Schedule
This is not an exact transcription of the census form. It is an alphabetical listing of the names of the veterans listed on the 1890 census veterans schedules for Langlade County. I have corrected some mistakes on the forms & supplemented missing census information using other Civil War Records. I discovered that many names were misspelled and other information the census enumerator wrote down was wrong! Some of this was due to the memory of the veterans 25 years after these events. I have used the spellings and dates I found on military roster records. (All length of service times need to be recalculated!). There were so many mistakes on the census forms that I felt my work would be only misleading and useless to researchers without making corrections and filling in missing information by doing my own research on these veterans. It is very interesting to look at the original census records and read the enumerators notes about the trouble they had trying to obtain this information. Its no wonder under the circumstances there were so many mistakes on the census form.
