Langlade County Census Transcriptions

Early Langlade County Censuses
To help you research Langlade County census records I have made maps of the territorial changes in the county and towns: CLICK HERE. Your ancestors may have lived in an entirely different towns during different census years but never physically have moved. Also see the chart below showing which townships were included in these old census enumeration districts.
CAUTION
There are spelling mistakes I made in transcribing the enumerators handwriting because sometimes it was very difficult to read. The enumerators also made surname spelling mistakes. Believe me, you can tell spelling was the not the favorite subject of some enumerators in school!! Also, remember many people could not spell their own names because they had no schooling and could only use an "X" to sign their names.
