- Village
- Location: Middle of Section 16, T32N, R10E, Town of Peck.
- Village named after William Ormsby, part owner of the Northern Woodland Company which built a saw mill in the village.
- Ormsby Pond made from a small dam across the West Branch of the Eau Claire River. Log drives took place on river even before community began in 1896.
- The sawmill at its peak employed more that 100 men.
- In the 1920s a turbine was added to the dam that created electricity for the sawmill buildings.
- Railroad track laid in 1900 which connected community to the C & NW Ry near Deerbrook. Track removed in 1941.
- Sawmill burned down several times but was rebuilt until the last fire in 1919.
- Community had Post Office from 1902 until 1922.
- Community also had a school, boarding house, store and cheese factory.
- Area tracts of land now owned by timber companies, potato growers, hunters and wildlife.
