Mayking School
Village
Location centered around County Highway "S" and Mayking Road. Sections 2 and 11 of T30N, R12E. (45° 6.11' N, -89° 0.77' W)
First settled in 1878-1879.
Named after Mayking Creek which flows through area.
Saw Mills
First saw mill built in section 13 by James Kennedy and John Zehner. They operated it from 1882 until 1893.
In 1893 Chris and Henry Wunderlich purchased the Kennedy-Zehner saw mill and operated it until 1907 when they moved it somewhere else.
George Wunderlich operated a sawmill in section 3 from 1917 until 1919.
Cheese Factories
First cheese factory was operated in section 12 by Henry Kletz and burned down in 1920.
The second cheese factory was operated by Martin Parsons during the 1920's.
Mayking had a post office from 1894 until 1902.
