Other Information: Mary and William Ekin's son, Charles S. lived with the Olds per 1880 Census (after her death) 3, 4, 7 Ransom S. died ae 78 of strangulation of the bowel 5 Amy died AE 79 of consumption 5 Ransom Spencer was given a deed for 80 acres in Somerset Twp, from Orsemus Pierce, brother 1 Ransom was on Petit Juror-Juror's List 1841 for Somerset, Hillsdale Co., MI 8 Ransom lived with his uncle John Olds upon the death of his parents until grown to manhood 1 In 1839 he was listed as a bridge builder for the L.S. and M.S. Railroad, 1; a farmer 1850-1880 2,3 Ransom built a house (still standing as of 1992) just outside of Somerset, he walked 3 miles one-way into Somerset every day to work as a carpenter. He helped build the hotel there.1 Harriet's diary said brother, Charles and her first husband, Ira Chandler, enlisted together in the Civil War 7 Mar 1865. Charles died shortly after coming home from the war. 9
