b.abt. 1800. m. Jan. 23, 1826 (from listing of Accomac County marriages) Children:

Isaac Andrews b. abt. 1834, Sarah Andrews b. abt. 1838 Mary Andrews b. abt. 1843
Mordicai Andrews was listed as a sailor in the 1850 Census of Accomac county Virginia.
Margaret Andrews m. William Daisey (my great great grandfather) in 1850.
This marriage was listed in an Accomac County marriage book that I found in a local library as
"William Daisey & Margaret Andrews of Mordicai".
Another point of interest: The 1850 census lists William Daisey living with the Mordicai family.
(I assume this means that he moved in with the parents & daughter after marriage)
I know from local Chincoteague folklore that the Andrews were one of the earliest families to inhabit Chincoteague Island.
Also the book 'Once Upon an Island' by Kirk Mariner (Miona Publications,
New Church Virginia 1996) states that in the great hurricane of Sept. 3, 1821,
a Mr. Andrews lost his wife and children and he survived,
being left hanging 20 feet in the air from a pine branch by his belt.
This was probably not Mordicai, but was almost certainly a relative from an earlier generation.

Isham Andrews born about 1747, married Rebecca Norman in 1767. They had at least 5 children,  one of which was Micajah Andrews, born in Liberty Co., GA  in 1774. Micajah married Ann Quaterman in 1797.  Micajah  had a son Robert  Quaterman Andrews born in 1805 who married Martha A. Cater. Robert  Q. Andrews had a daughter Martha Aletta Andrews who married Wesley Ashmore. There daughter, Esther Viola Ashmore, born in 1886, married Julian Melvin Clark in 1906. There son, Hugh Allison Clark was born in 1912. Hugh Allison Clark married Thelma Marie Gray in 1935. Hugh  Allison Clark and Thelma Marie Gray Clark were my father and mother. He died in Lunenburg Co., VA in 1752.  His son Willam b. 13 May 1726 in Henrico Co. VA d. 1771/72 in Mecklenburg Co., VA m. Ann BROOKS. They had 6 children. William's oldest son Rowland/Roland d in Randolph Co., VA 31 Dec. 1785 m.
