Origin and Meaning of the name Turner
TURNER is an occupational name from Norman French meaning someone who made objects with a lathe or "turn".
My parental grandmother's mother was Winifred Turner of Wrightington, Lancashire. They seem to have been a Catholic family.
My basic aim is to trace back the Turner line as far as possible.
