Second World War
James Christopher Anderton

by Gayle Weiss

James Christopher Anderton was born January 19, 1919 in Mathews County, VA and died (of diabetes) on June 22, 1978. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1941 and was overseas much of the time after the US entered the war. His company followed that of General Patton from North Africa up through Italy. I have his discharge papers and will update this when I find them. James' ("Bubber" as he was called) parents were Roland Crowder Anderton and Bertha. His Anderton grandfather was Christopher Columbus Anderton who appears in the Civil War Roll of Honour on this website.
