DNA testing is an exciting tool that has helped many of us with our genealogy research in the last few years.

If you are reading the information about the Anderson DNA Project web site you have either joined our project through FTDNA, or you are seriously considering using DNA testing to enhance your genealogy research. Either way we welcome your interest in the Anderson DNA Project!

Members of the Anderson DNA Project are assigned to a group based upon the results of the 12 Marker Y-DNA test. As you continue to test in the 25 marker, 37 marker or 67 marker your test results change as to the members you match closest with.

We ask that each Anderson male (or female who participates in the mtDNA testing) who decides to join the Anderson DNA Project contribute a basic lineage of their Anderson line. Start with yourself, then your parents, grandparents and so on down the line. Please use the following reference to submit your Anderson lineage:

Name, Date and Place of Birth; Date and Place of Death
Spouse Name, Date and Place of Birth; Date and Place of Death
Date and Place of Marriage

The Lineage Report form is provided to aid you in submitting your lineage information. We ask that you please complete Lineage Report form and submit the information as soon as possible. The Anderson DNA Project is about "connecting Anderson families together" and the Lineage Report may help in facilitating your genealogy research so that other researchers of the same family can find you and contact you via this website. In some cases, members have found Anderson families in different areas of the U.S. that they knew nothing about. The genealogy paper trail wasn't the source of this connection. The DNA testing was the source of this connection!

This information will be posted on the Anderson DNA web site once DNA results become available from FTDNA. We will not publish information about living individuals on our website, unless we have permission to do so.
