216650 - Keith G. Calkins

Haplogroup:

Haplogroup I - Not Yet Assigned to a Lineage

Lineage:

  • From an email dated, Sep 28, 2011 from Keith Calkins to Darlene Anderson - My father's mother's maternal grandfather was born 40 "miles" Swedish?) from Stockholm in 1815 and ran away to sea where he sailed the seven seas for 25 years. He became a US citizen by fighting for the US Navy during the Mexican War. He dog sledded across Penn., etc. to Michigan where he settled and married a women half his age (he was older than his mother-in-law) and then had 14 children---12 of whom have descendants. He used the name Charles Anderson but may have been born Bargdahl or his father was Johannes Pather Bargdahl. I am hoping this Y-DNA might give me further clues as to his origins. Only time will tell.
