Joan Elizabeth Aicher, 56, of Ottawa, died Saturday morning, Jan. 27, at Community Hospital of Ottawa.

....Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park [on Wednesday, Jan. 31].

Mrs. Aicher was born June 12, 1944, to Robert Noel and Elizabeth Ida (Nelson) Marten. She married Wayne Robert Aicher on Oct. 19, 1968, at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Jay (Amy), Jeffrey and John, all of Ottawa, and Kevin (Liz) of St. Charles; two daughters, Cindy (Tod) Misener of Bethlehem, PA., and Julie (Jeffrey) Shields of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, Kendall, Tiffany and Lindsey Aicher; Justin, Madison and MacKenzie Misener; a brother, Robert F. (Dianne) Marten of Ottawa; and a sister, Sally M. (Joseph) Schmitz of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Timothy Aicher and Johanne Misener.

Pallbearers will be Tod Misener, Jeffrey Shields, Rob and Steve Marten, David Usrey and Ron Buckley.

PERSONAL OBSERVATION: It is unclear as to whose children (Jay or Kevin) the following are: Jacob, Jonah, Kendall, Tiffany and Lindsey Aicher; the deceased Timothy Aicher.

Keith Tuftie, 63, of Ottawa, died Monday morning, Oct. 8, at his home.

.... Burial will be in Freedom Lutheran Cemetery. ....

Mr. Tuftie was born July 5, 1938, in Ottawa, to Fremont and Gladys (Thorson) Tuftie. He married Dona Turnquist on Sept. 4, 1959, in Nashua, Iowa.

He farmed in Freedom Township for 35 years and was a member of Freedom Lutheran Church and La Salle County Farm bureau.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kim (Giles) Eddy and Kelly (Tom) Quinn, both of Ottawa; a son, Kevin of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Garek, Guy and Krista Eddy, Kyann and Shayla Quinn; two brothers, Gary (Kathy) of Ottawa and Curt of Earliville; and two sisters, Marcia Wooldridge and Marlene Tuftie, both of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents. ......

Thomas M. and Paula A. (Marten) Wallace of Ottawa recently celebrated their 25th wedding aniversary.

They were married Nov. 13, 1976, at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Ottawa by the Rev. Edward Strom. Attendants were William Madden, friend of the groom, William G. Meyer, brother-in-law of the bride and groom, Paul Blumhorst and Danny Thomas, friends of the groom, Glenda Meyer, sister of the bride, Jean Benjoya, sister of the groom, and Melanie Peddicord, cousin of the bride.

Parents of the couple are O. Glen and Helen Marten of Ottawa and Thomas E. and Helen Wallace of Peoria.

The Wallaces are the parents of a son, Bryce at home.

Mr. Wallace is employed as an energy management specialist at La Salle County Farm Supply and Mrs. Wallace is employed by Sodexho through Ottawa Township High School cafeteria.

The couple was honored at a family dinner Nov. 13.

GERALD "JERRY" T. DUMMITT SR. 1939 - 1992

Gerald "Jerry" T. Dummitt Sr., 52, 219 W. Superior, died Friday at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday ..... Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Dummitt was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Morris to Carl Raymond and Theresa (Thompson) Dummitt.

He worked at ADM Growmart Grain Co. in South Ottawa for 24 years.

He married Patricia Streul on Aug. 9, 1966, in Morris.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Raymond and Gerald Jr., both of Ottawa; three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Green, Della Dummitt and Mrs. Barbara Rice, all of Ottawa; two brothers, Charles Sanderson of Ottawa and Gene Dummitt, Morris, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn England.
