Last Will and Testament of Michael Simmons Bletchly (1798-1847)
This is the last Will and Testament of me MICHAEL SIMMONS BLETCHLY of the City of Exeter, Carrier. I give to my brother JOHN BLETCHLY of Bristol all my real and personal estate of every description and as well beneficial as trust estates upon Trust to convert such part of my personal estate as shall not consist of money or securities for money into money at his discretion first permitting my wife to take such part of my household goods and furniture as my said Trustee shall think proper to allow her to use during so long as she shall continue my Widow and then to pay my just debts funeral expenses and expenses of proving this my Will and to receive the Interest and annual income of my said real and personal Estate and thereout to pay my said Wife by weekly payments the sum of Eight shillings during so long as she shall continue my Wife and subject thereto upon trust to pay and divide the surplus Income to and amongst my children until they shall all have attained the age of Twenty One years. And upon the youngest child that age then upon trust to make such provision as my trustee shall think most proper for the payment of the said sum to my said wife and to divide the residue equally amongst all my Children as Tenants in common and in case any or either of them shall die under twenty one years of age leaving children then the part of the child so dying as well original as accruing shall go and belong to his her or their children equally as Tenants in common but if any or either of my children shall die under twenty one years of age without leaving any child or children or leaving such all of them should afterwardsdie under Twenty one without having been married then his her or their part shall go and belong to my surviving children as Tenants in common Provided and I expressly impower my said Trustees his Heirs or Assigns if he or they shall think it more desirable so to do to sell all or any part of my real Estate and to give sufficient and proper discharge for the purchase Money and to hold the monies arising therefrom Upontrust either to again lay out the same in the purchase of other real Estate or invest the same at Interest or on Government Securities as he or they shall think most proper Provided and I declare that the shares of my Daughters shall be for their sole use separate and apart from any husband and not to be subject to his Debts Control or Interference and the receipt of my said Daughters alone shall be the only sufficient discharges for the principal as well as the rents Interest Dividends and Income of such daughters shares and I appoint my said Brother Sole Executor of this my Will and guardian of such my Children as shall be under the age of twenty one years at my death and in the event of his death either before or after me then I appoint my brother EBENEZER BLETCHLY of Hawkesbury UptonGloucestershire to be my Executor thenceforth and also Guardian of my said Children and immediately upon the death of my said Brother JOHN I give all my real and personal estate to my said Brother EBENEZER BLETCHLY upon the same trusts as are hereinbefore
expressed or such of them as shall be then subsisting and I authorise my said brothers to deduct all costs and Expenses to be incurred by either of them in the execution of the trusts of this my Will In witness whereof I the said Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this Thirtieth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Six.

Also all that my piece of freehold garden and grounds, stable and coachhouse all situate and being in Symn Lane in the Parish of Wotton-under-Edge aforesaid and all other my real and personal estate and effects not hereinbefore bequethed of whatsoever kind and wheresoever situate and which I now am or at the time of my decease may be siezed, possessed ofor interred either in possession, reversion remainder or expertaining or over which I am or at the time of my decease may have any disposing or power to hold the same with their appurtenances into and to the use of my said Trustee his heirs executors administrators and assignors upon trust in the first place to pay out of my said personal estate within twelve months after my decease the following legacies viz. to my said wife Hester Helen BLETCHLY the sum of two hundred and eighty four pounds,three shillings and seven pence for her own use absolutely. Susanna Olive [Parents] 1 was born in 1827 in Born at sea aboard the Marquis of Anglese. She married 2 William Cambrell in 1842. Susanna immigrated in 1827 to PJS, Australia aboard the Marquis of Anglese.
Susan Olive was born at sea on the “Marquis of Angelsey” en route from Portsmouth to Port Jackson. Arrived 1827.
