Arnold. married Eliza Arnold Duffet.
Eliza Arnold Duffet was born in 1823 in Stalbridge, UK. She died on 18 Nov 1873 in Hinton St. Mary, Dorset, UK. She was buried on 18 Nov 1873 in Hinton St. Mary, Dorset, UK. She married Arnold.
Other marriages:Chinn, Amos
Recorded in the 1871 Census of Hinton St. Mary as Eliza from Stalbridge, aged 50, wife of Amos.
Eliza was a widow prior to marrying Amos. Two daughters are reflected here - Ellen and Eliza. It is presumed that they are daughters of Eliza from her first marriage which would imply that her first marriage was to an Arnold, however the record states her name as Eliza Arnold Duffet and the 1871 Census of Hinton St. Mary Lists Ellen and Eliza as being daughter-in-laws. This could mean that they are in fact the sisters of Eliza's late husband rather than the offspring of the marriage. The exact circumstances are not known other than the two spinsters, Ellen and Eliza Arnold aged 20 and 10, were living with Amos and Eliza [Arnold Duffet] Chinn by 1871 along with their son Amos.
Another possibility is that Eliza was an Arnold and that these are in fact younger sisters, sisters-in-law to Amos.
Due to the advanced ages of Amos and Eliza it must be considered also that Amos jr. may in fact be the child of another Chinn which they were raising but this appears unlikely.
