 My great-great grandfather
never became a naturalized citizen of the United States. During World War
I, his brother, C.C. Schaefer had fallen ill, Chris needed to go see him.
C.C. was in Oklahoma, Chris was in Indiana, the U.S. government had to issue a
passport for Chris to travel from Indiana to Oklahoma, Chris was deemed an enemy
alien. Below is a poor Xerox copy of that passport. This copy was
given to me by Lowell Shafer, where he got it, is unknown to me. Someone
in our family may have the original, I would love to have a better copy, a
scanned image would be nice. |
