Monk's Notes:
In 1747 Leonard Langston gave to Thomas Amason 250 acres on Fort Branch and Panther Branch.
A warrant to survey 640 acres joining White Oak Swamp between Nathan Barnes and John Wiggins.
On Jan 11, 1754 William Emerson had a warrant to survey 164 acres on the South side of White Oak Swamp joining Nathan Barnes and John Wiggins.
On Aug 1 1762 William Amerson was granted 700 acres on the North side of Toisnot. This was land he had entered on December 19, 1761.
On January 24, 1763 Thomas Amason sold 25 acres to William Amason. This land was part of the land Thomas Amason received from Leonard Langston. The deed was signed Thomas Emerson and wit. by Benjamin Emerson.
In March 1767 Benjamin Amason purchased 150 acres from Abram Barnes. This land was on the North side of Contentney Creek joining the Toisnot low grounds. The deed was witnessed by Thomas Amason.
On Jan 8, 1779 Thomas Amason sold to William Amason 10 acres, part of the land given to Thomas Amason by Leonard Langston.
By this time, 1779, William Amason has 1539 acres.
In Jan 1769 Henry Amason sold to Benjamin Amason 100 acres on the North side of Bear Branch. In 1774 Benjamin sold this land to James Amason.
In 1782 Benjamin Amason was granted 700 acres and 400 acres and 1797 an additional 96 acres. This gives Benjamin Amason 1346 acres.
In 1797 Benjamin sold 100 acres, part of the 1782 grant, to John Skitto. This was on the S. Side of Toisnot at the bridge (This would be Peele's Bridge) and the Main road (This would be 222 now).
In 1789 Benjamin gave to his sons Uriah & Benjamin Jr. 250 acres each. Part of the 1782 grant.
In 1776, James Amouson was granted 640 acres and 400 acres.
Jesse Amason owned land adjoining James Amason.
So by 1780 Thomas Amason, William Amason, Benjamin Amason, James Amason, Jesse Amason and Henry Amason are all living in the same area, although Henry seems to have left when he sold the land to Benjamin in 1769.
White Oak Bridge:
William Amason Jr., James Amason, John Amason hands ordered to assist in 1795 to lay off road leading across White Oak Swamp. Beginning at the Morning(?) house, starting at the Thomas place on 42 going thru Sun crossed White Oak along the present hightway & bypassed Saratoga in the direction of Stantonsburg from White Oak Swp to the old rd near James Amason.
Bridge across Toisnot on 222 was called lower Tosneot Bridge built before 1751.
James Stanton, Benjamin Amason & Eli Amason were to repair the bridge on Mar 2 1800.
On Nov 27, 1806 the following commissioners were appointed by the court to construct a new road across Toisnot: Willie Stanton, James Stanton, Eli Amason, Manoah Amason, William Ellis, Micajah Thomas, Reddick Barnes, Willie Barnes, George Brownrig, John Amason, Benjamin Amason, Isaac Amason, John Bartee, Garrot Knight, Josiah Barnes, & Soloman Barnes. New bridge called Thomas'
On Nov 28, 1814 Ichabod Thomas, John Peelle, Eli Amason, Ephraim Daniel & Lemuel Daniel were ordered to repair "Thomas" Bridge
On Nov 24 1817 Repair bridge again Eli Amason, Benjamin Amason.
On May 25 1818 Benjamin & Eli Amason among others were ordered to repair or rebuild John Peele's Bridge across Toisnot.
On Aug 27 1823 Elijah Price, Thomas Amason, Reddick Barnes, Henry T. Stanton & Josiah R. Horn were to repair the bridge across Toisnot.
Again on Aug 29 1926 Thomas Amason among others to rebuild Peel's bridge over Toisnot.
On May 28, 1811 The court read a petition to lay off a short road from Green Co. line near Samuel Vines into the road that leads to Tarborough near Stantons meeting house running through the lands of Willie Stanton & James Stanton and across a corner of Benjamin Amason's.

Property for the 2nd Meth. Ch. was deeded Jan 2 1833 by Thomas Amason & Richard Hocott
July 4 1834 Celebration reported in the Tarboro Free Press of July 11 1834: "A group of prominant citizens of the Stantonsburg area met on June 28 to plan the celebration. The committee of arrangements consisted of Jacob Barnes, Samuel Speight, Thomas Amason, John Horne, William Barnes and Enos Amason. One of the toasts was made by George Amason."

Road leading from the Barefoot road between the path leading to B. Bardens and Lawson Barnes old field by Benjamin Simms Mill, Willie Simms, Edwin Barnes, Nathan Anderson & Uriah Amasons to the road leading from Black Creek to Stantonsburg over the lands of the above persons and the lands of Elizabeth Amason is necessary & would be convenient & useful to the public.
In 1845 Isaac Amason was made overseer of the road from Stantonsburg to Woodard's bridge in place of Roderick Amason who was decd.
