JOHN HYSSY - Male Christening: 16 MAR 1658 Longworth, Berkshire, England
Parents: Father: JOHN HYSSY Mother: ANNEJohn and Mary had four children all baptised in Longworth, England : Ann (1697), John (1701) our direct ancestor who married Mary TUCKER, Mary (1703) and Elizabeth (1707).
Stan HISSEY advised John HISSEY born March 16, 1657/58 in Hampstead Norris married Ann born 1662 in Hampstead Norris and their son John HISSEY chr July 20, 1701 married Mary TUCKER. Ian Charles HISSEY's pages states ;
John and Ann's eldest son John(4th), was born in 1658, and in 1696, during the Reign of Willlam Ill, when he was nearly 40, he married Mary Couldrey of Southmoor. Mary was probably the daughter of Moses and Roberta Couldrey who was christened Longworth in 1675.John is descended from the HISSEY's in Hinton Waldrist. It appears that a generation may be missing, however he, may indeed have been indeed 49 years of age at the time of his youngest child's birth in 1707. Although if this proves to be correct, then his first child was not born until he was 39 years of age, which was unusual for the time. I have not as yet found a corresponding baptismal entry, and conclusive research was kindly undertaken of the Longworth Parish Registers by my cousin Elizabeth GADD in April 2005 confirming there was NOT a John HISSEY christened there in 1675. Therefore it would seem he was indeed born in 1658 and was therefore the son of John HISSEY born 1635, and his wife Anne as follows :
His father (or grandfather) was John HISSEY, born 1635 in Longworth, England. He married Anne (surname unknown) and they had five children all baptized in Longworth England; John (1658), Jonathan (1661), Robert (1664), Charles (1664) and Ann (1667).
Robert HISSEY christened on 6 Nov 1808 in Hinton Waldrist, England . He married Anish and they had the following two children christened in Longworth, England; John HISSEY (1635) our direct ancestor who married Anne, and Sisle HISSEY (1638). The had a further three children Joan, Robert and Thomas.
John HISSEY, born 1567 in Wantage, England. He married Cicely CARTER on 11 Feb 1604 in Hinton Waldrist, England and they had the following children who were all baptized in Hinton Waldrist, England; Jane (1605), Robert (1608) our direct ancestor who married Annish, Edward (1610) and Richard (1614).

"The town of Staindrop is situated on the turnpike road, between the city of Durham and Barnard Castle, 19 miles from the former and 15 from the latter. It is 32 miles by the turnpike road from Gateshead, the same distance from Sunderland, 11 from Darlington, and 244 from London. The town consists principally of one wide street, about half a mile in length, and contains several substantial houses, the residences of many respectable families. The Lnagley Beck, which is crossed by a bridge, near the east end of the church, passes it on the north, and separates it from Raby. On every side is rich and picturesque woodland scenery, through which are many pleasant walks. Raby, with its fine old castle and extensive and attractive park, is in close proximity.Henry Lamb Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church. Possible connection to Paul ASHLEY's Descendants of John NASH 5 May 2004
First Generation 1. John NASH.
John NASH and Elizabeth BOULTON were married on January 4, 1725 in Maidstone, Kent, England. From this family on
the tree is currently speculation (LPA, 1997). The evidences for the linkage are the Nash name and the fact that the daughter
Elizabeth married Michael Minter, possible namesake of known ancestor Michael Minter Pain, who would be Elizabeth's
nephew. John NASH and Elizabeth BOULTON had the following children:
+2 i. John NASH ; +3 ii. Elizabeth NASH; +4 iii. Ann NASH.
Second Generation
2. John NASH.
John NASH and Elizabeth RANDALL were married on January 20, 1741 in Folkestone, Kent, England.
3. Elizabeth NASH.
Elizabeth NASH and Michael MINTER were married on November 3, 1748 in Folkestone, Kent, England. Michael MINTER
died. It is possible that Michael Minter was the captain of the ship that took Lord Byron to Italy. He also may have been
buried at sea. A Michael Minter was mayor of Folkestone in 1788.

4. Ann NASH.
Ann NASH and Vincent PAIN were married on July 14, 1757 in Folkestone, Kent, England. Ann NASH and Vincent PAIN
had the following children:
+5 i. Vincent PAIN (born between January 16, 1758 and April 12, 1758).
6 ii. Sarah PAIN was born in 1758/59 in Folkestone, Kent, England. She was christened on January 2,

in Folkestone, Kent, England. She died on July 9, 1848. She was buried in Folkestone, Kent,
England. Western portion of churchyard in St. Mary and St. Eanswythe Church. Henry Pain was clerk
of the parish of St. Mary and St. Eanswythe Church for 33 years.
Third Generation
5. Vincent PAIN (Ann NASH-2, John-1) was born between January 16, 1758 and April 12, 1758 in Folkestone, Kent,
England. Birth date range is calculated from death date and age listed on headstone compared with christening date. He was
christened on April 12, 1758 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He died on January 15, 1836 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He
was buried in Folkestone, Kent, England. Western portion of churchyard in St. Mary and St. Eanswythe Church.
Vincent PAIN and Ann LAMEN were married on June 2, 1781 in Folkestone, Kent, England. The marriage was possibly at
St. Alphage church in Greenwich. England. The marriage entry (Mormon library microfilm GS908173) staes that the marrige
was "by licence". Ann LAMEN was born in 1762 in Folkestone, Kent, England. She died on June 21, 1848 in West Malling,Descendants of John NASH 5 May 2004

16 vii. Vincent PAIN was christened on February 22, 1797 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He was born in
Folkestone, Kent, England.
8. Elizabeth PAIN (Ann NASH-2, John-1) was born in 1763 in Folkestone, Kent, England. She was christened on
September 4, 1763 in Folkestone, Kent, England.
Elizabeth PAIN and John Bayley were married on January 1, 1800 in Folkestone, Kent, England. This is speculation based on
the date and the fact that the marriage was witnessed by Vincent Pain. However, the first Vincent Pain had a son Vincent who
also had a daughter named Elizabeth Minter Pain. Either could have been the subject of the marriage record.
Fourth Generation
11. Sarah PAIN (Vincent-3, Ann NASH-2, John-1) was born in 1784 in Folkestone, Kent, England. She was christened on
July 14, 1784 in Folkestone, Kent, England. She lived Bail Steps in Folkestone, Kent, England in 1861.1 She was buried on
January 19, 1863 in Folkestone, Kent, England.
Sarah PAIN and Henry WARMAN were married on February 17, 1818. The 1861 Folkestone census lists a Mary Ann Grant,
age 18, as a great granddaughter of Sarah Warman, with whom she was living. Mary Ann's occupation was recorded as "fancy worker". Henry WARMAN was born in 1791. He died in 1859. He was buried on October 8, 1859 in Folkestone, Kent,
England. Buried at St. Mary's and St. Eanswythe Church.
13. Mary Ann PAIN (Vincent-3, Ann NASH-2, John-1) was christened on January 24, 1790 in Folkestone, Kent, England.
He was born in Folkestone, Kent, England.
Mary Ann PAIN and George GRANT were married on April 28, 1836 in Folkestone, Kent, England. This is a speculation
from marriage records. This was the only marriage for a Mary Ann Pain that I found [Lauren Paul Ashley].
14. William PAIN (Vincent-3, Ann NASH-2, John-1) was christened on May 16, 1792 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He
was born in Folkestone, Kent, England.
William PAIN and Susanna STONE were married on July 14, 1813 in Folkestone, Kent, England. This is speculation based on
the date and names found listed.
15. Henry PAIN (Vincent-3, Ann NASH-2, John-1) was christened on June 24, 1794 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He was
born in 1794 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He lived Radnor Street in Folkestone, Kent, England in 1841.2 He died on July
17, 1845 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He was buried on July 21, 1845 in Folkestone, Kent, England. Western portion of
churchyard in St. Mary and St. Eanswythe Church. He was a boat builder in Folkestone, Kent, England.2
Henry PAIN and Charlotte STONE were married on November 5, 1826. The marriage was either at Folkestone or at St.
Alphage Church in Greenwich. The marriage was witnessed by Mary Ann Pain, Henry's sister, and by Henry's uncle, also
named Henry Pain. The 1841 Census shows Heny and Charlotte Pain living on Radnor Street. Charlotte STONE (daughter
of John STONE and Hannah STONE) was born between December 10, 1798 and December 9, 1799 in Folkestone, Kent,
England. An alternate year of birth is 1801. The headstone at St Mary and St. Eanswythe Church lists Charlotte's age at death
as 45 which would put her year of birth around 1799. The 1841 Folkestone census, however, lists her as being 40 years old.
Alternatively she was born in 1801.3 She died on December 9, 1844. She was buried on December 20, 1844 in Folkestone,
Kent, England. Henry PAIN and Charlotte STONE had the following children:
17 i. Vincent PAIN was born in 1827 in Folkestone, Kent, England. He was christened on October 30,Descendants of John NASH 5 May 2004
3 1827 in Folkestone, Kent, England.

Possible sibling : Susannah PAY married Leonard MINTER in 1723.
Jane E Marshall may have a possible Minter connection, as she has a connection to a Michael Minter who married Margaret Johncock in 1757 but is having been having trouble placing him. Having ruled out various possibles, the only one left (that has been recorded) is a Michael b 1727, s/o Leonard Minter and Susan. The only Leonard/Susan marriage she could find was to a Susannah Pay in 1723. Therefore Leonard might be the one born 1701, s/o Michael Minter and Sarah Marsh?Likely connection to Marriage of Edward PAY, Widower and Elizabeth KEAT both of this Parish.

+2 i. John NASH.
+3 ii. Elizabeth NASH.
+4 iii. Ann NASH.Second Generation

+5 i. Vincent PAIN (born between January 16, 1758 and April 12, 1758).

in Folkestone, Kent, England.

Mary Ann's occupation was recorded as "fancy
worker".
